"Make in India" is an initiative to attract foreign companies to invest and manufacture their products in India. This doesn't necessarily mean the product is developed in India.

[deleted post]Almost everything is made in China. Throw away your electronics because those are made in China. Designed somewhere else, sure, but made in China regardless. Almost everything you own was made in or contains something that was made in China. Pretty hard country to boycott, buddy.

In regard to optical fiber, Kapany did not "make" it. Furthermore, it was not "made" in India, Kapany did his research on fiber optics in Britain and America, nowhere near India. If simply being half-Indian makes whatever you make "made in India," then Trump is a Scottish-German and shouldn't be allowed to be president because he comes from a family of "dirty immigrants."

Yoga is probably the only thing you mentioned that has Indian origins.

[deleted post]As long as I hate Chinese OEM’s, but still admit that they’re the best when it comes assembling job and I noticed this thing since Samsung start assembling there Galaxy’s and note line in Vietnam and how’s assembling not as good as Chinese Galaxy’s assembling.

You know, this is exactly how China start stealing USs and others IPs and from a third-world country to a country that threatens its neighbors.

Until all of these countries go back to reinvesting into their own country/people, another China country will rise eventually and properly be a lot more destructive than China could ever be.

So the stick (higher import taxes) isn't working and they're offering incentives instead. Why Apple though? As far as I know, not that many Indians use iPhones.

If I'm reading this correctly. Increasing production does not necessarily equal cheaper product price in India. Some phones such as Samsung S20 and iPhone 11 will remain expensive. India makes Xiaomi and realme handset taxes way too low, they need to be higher.

Apple should move all it production into India and totally leave china alone, that will be great
