Look how sharp the video is on the Find X2 pro at night where most cameras struggle.
S20 ultra might be brighter but it's grainy and has too much noise.
S20 plus is better than S20 Ultra but still noise ridden footage and other issues.
Find X2 pro footage looks so clean with great auto focusing capabilities.

Btw my find x2 pro I did comparisons myself with real s20ultra and p40pro. I am on par or same or better or 2% worse. Thats amateur compare but good enough for me to justice my pricey find x2 pro. I do same photos and crop 200% and compare with my eyes :) So no donations and paied reviews for me.
Thanks for cleaning up for x50pro+. I will probably buy her p40pro+ in 2 months when normal prices come. since she has p30pro she will be more happy with familiar yet better huawei :)

Both X50Pro and X50Pro+ come with a periscope 5x optical zoom, which is among the most wanted features of a 2020 smartphone camera setup. If you have used a phone with a periscope zoom, you really don't want to buy a new phone without one. It is difficult to design and implement a periscope zoom well. The quality of those periscope zooms on offer varies greatly, from the most poorly implemented one on S20Ultra (88, rated by DxOMark) to the very best one on P40Pro (115, rated by DxOMark).
The full list of rated periscope zooms given by DxOMark is as follows:
Samsung S20 Ultra (3.8x optical zoom): 88;
P30Pro (5x optical zoom) 95;
Find X2 Pro (5x optical zoom): 97;
Honor 30 Pro+ (5x optical zoom): 101;
P40 Pro (5x optical zoom): 115.
This list covers nearly all periscope zooms on offer as of April 7, 2020.

None of the above mentioned phones is head and shoulders above one another.
They all excel at certain things while lacks certain things.

Tier-1: P40Pro;
Tier-2: Oppo Find 2 Pro, S20 Ultra;
Below Tier-2: Xperia 1 Mark 2. (Very average components which doesn't provide a proper foundation on which you can build a competitive 2020 smartphone camera system. "BIONZ X Mobile" is a weak software imitation of its "BIONZ X" chip-based ISP used in Sony's alpha cameras.)
Vivo X50 Pro has a strong videography credential with its gimbal-stabilizer and IMX598, but its photography credentials probably will not reach Tier-2.
Vivo X50 Pro+ has the potential to reach Tier-2 with its better sensor and a good implementation of software-based computational photography. However, I don't think it can challenge P40Pro primarily because the ISP of SD865 is very limited in its ability to offer hardware-assisted image processing.

I think the absolute best would be the x50 pro+ hardware combined with the iPhone 11 pro/pixel software.

Vivo & LG are last of the two living Mohicans who stood beside our beloved 3.5 mm audio jack. Moreover Vivo is a pioneer in mobile HiFi music, they were among the first to introduce dedicated audio DACs in smartphones. My Vivo X5Max launched 6 years back is still a living testament to that.
As a music lover down the line I bought many of their devices just for its audio quality through the audio jack. I had their Vivo Y27L, Vivo V1Max, Vivo V3Max, Vivo V5Plus, Vivo X5Max, Vivo X5Pro, Vivo X21 & finally the Vivo NEX (Vivo NEX S in China). All of them had dedicated audio DACs but I only kept the iconic ones and sold the rest. As of now I have just 4 of them mentioned below:
1) Vivo Y27L (AKM dac): Kept just because if its compact size.
2) Vivo X5Max (ESS dac): An icon, phenomenal audio quality, slimmest phone in the world, great AMOLED display, flagship built quality. In China considered one of the best sounding smartphones of it era.
3) Vivo V5Plus (AKM dac): The last V series phone that was not made out of junk plastic. Good audio quality, great built quality, a refined product with good battery life.
4) Vivo NEX S (Cirrus Logic dac): A true uber flagship from Vivo, surpassing anything they had made till 2018. A phone that puts Vivo X series to shame. Nothing was spared, and only the highest quality components were used. The only other Vivo that could beat the magnanimous X5Max in audio quality and headphone drive capability. The NEX S is still considered the finest sounding smartphone that came out of China. None of its successors could beat it in terms of pure audio quality.
Lets hope Vivo does not drop the audio jack from its true flagship lineup, the NEX series.

I'm still yet to get my hands on last year's X30 Pro and now vivo launched its new successor. Judging by the spec between the three variants, I'd say that the middle X50 Pro seems to be the best buy. Sure, I'm not getting the Snapdragon 865 chipset or 120Hz refresh rate or the Samsung GN1 camera sensor or even faster wired charging rate like in the X50 Pro+. But the X50 Pro+ is $100 more expensive than the X50 Pro and the difference isn't really that noticeable.
One thing's for sure though: Neither X50 variants have 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio. So I may stick with last year's X30 Pro because of that.
