The absence of Google Mobile Services (GMS) does NOT mean one cannot get these apps. Whataspp, facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. are NOT Google apps. One can get them directly from the publisher. Gmail can be used normally from the email app found on any phone.
Many (including myself) find the absence of GMS on new Huawei phones an impetus to buy these phones.

That is the most versatile camera setup on any phone to date. Probably one of the best phones to pick if you're into mobile photography.

If they weren't we wouldn't be seeing phones reaching ~€1500 in the first place. The fact is though, the average buyer won't bother searching other sources for their apps. They'll just get a phone that has them instead. Also I don't think any banking apps work either on the p40

I don't think Huawei knows what the 'plus' stands for, it's the exact same size as the P40pro.

I use Waze or Here Maps, Brave browser, and the other social apps i use in browser with shortcuts on desktop. Only thing i install it's whatsapp and some other apps. The cameras on Huawei flagships are never dissapointing, i have a p30 pro. I get 2 days battery life. Fluid everything. Great build quality and premium feeling. No, i'm not chinesse and i'm using an LG v40 now for the quad dac or i would have continue with Huawei if they had clear dac inside and headphone jack.

Gmail works fine through the default email app.
Maps works fine for me (don't utilise it enough to need a login and I use Waze for my navigation).
Don't need Chrome as plenty of other browsers.
WhatsApp works fine.
Instagram works fine.
Facebook works fine.
Until you actually try one, or at the very least do a bit of research, then you'll never actually know.

Volca, 03 Jun 2020Basically a splendid camera that can be used for sms and ca... morethe difference is that Huawei is still very successful even without GMS, of course nowhere near as sucessful without sales numbers of google and a global audience, but these phones are still selling like hotcakes, once their app gallery is upto scratch which may take a few years, they will be able to go global again on large scale, they are developing many alternatives to google to be able to compete, and given their fantastic hardware, I hope they succeed sooner rather then later

Extra telephoto camera (3 optical on top!), and another separate telephoto periscope 10x optical. These 2 things make this device very amazing.

Its evident people have crowded in numbers just to point out how useless Huawei P40 series is but deep down they know what a mind-blowing overpowered piece of engineering this phone is strategically caged by US Ban!
So they had to come in the comments section & read the article even though they say they don't care about this phone! Seriously? :P

I look into this phone only for my wife he loves huawei and wants to upgrade her p30pro
otherwise I will wait for mate40pro for me, and now I am with other brand
