Smdnoob, 07 Jun 2012Guys that dont know, the cofounder of apple use wp and love... moreWell if co founder of apple uses windows phone then does it make it the phone of choice of public? Well the answer is no ofcourse. What makes an os popular is "ease to use" . I own both a lumia 710 and xperia live with walkman . And i know that windows has a long way to go. It is full of lack of even very common features that a smartphone owner looks for. For instance just check if u can delete multiple photos at a time in ur pictures tile. At is a great pain to delete one photo at a time. I can many such thing that's great in android and wp lacks it. I think only way wp can give some competition to android is when some of its designers use android them self for some months and then compare it with the wp they have designed.

betty19, 09 Jun 2012fool Android is just like a toy OS compare to WINDOWS OS yo... moreI can see that. Android being a toy. A toy to kids offer freedom and choice where many grow up and instead of maturing but keeping themselves they conform and let go of major parts of themselves to fit in. So in that sense I can see it being a toy/freedom

Yeah but they also said when windows was released that at it's app stores' growth rate it would hit X amount of apps after 6 months, a target it failed to hit as the initial assessment period was a 'growth spurt' after launch. So honestly, I'll believe it when I see it.

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2012Some people just want simple phones thoughThis is true. But people have been given the miss perception that Android in its basic functions is more complicated. Where its just as easy if not more easy to use while at the same time offering more function and user integration. Now there are the few that just prefer the different ui's, but that's not the case with a lot. They were just lied too.

While I can't see myself agreeing with those projections, it probably should be noted that WP7 is most definitely improving. In the past, I was the first to bash WP7 with its linear approach in OS design and overall lack of technical depth and functionality (at least in comparison to Android). But they have made lots of strides in the past year and are on their way to becoming at the very least a force. Whether or not its to be reckoned with is another story. But they are getting there. They're bound to improve with time as the devs seem to be paying attention to their users which is always good.
And of course, the fact that Windows 8 looks like the PC version of Windows Phone 7 can't be all that bad as well. Windows still dominates the Desktop OS space. Unifying UI elements across OS's (if Windows 8 catches on) is bound to have a positive filter down effect on Windows Phone 7 as well. As it will indirectly prime users, naturally pointing them in that direction.
So they will ultimately get more of market share in time. It's just, I'm not so sure its going to be by that much though..

AnonD-52974, 08 Jun 2012"Android users can't afford or get iphones" that'... moreActually that is the main initial reason for consumer interest in Android OS - price first then it is ok for the task and is it a good experience. Frankly mobile phone market is very impulse driven. Samsung for example did very well last year but this year will be unable to sustain those growth figures. HTC are really fighting back and will capture some Samsung Android market share. There is strong intra Android OS fighting at the moment which will increase resulting in eroding their respective market shares. One decent new mobile from Apple and Windows finally gets its act together then Android market share will reduce slightly. Microsoft and Apple are not going away. Me - I prefer the BB keyboard. My choice and works great for me and business without the touch screen problems. The future issue will be one of efficiency and security. If Android develops major security issues its share of the market will crash. Security could be Android's weakest point. Cameras and videos are just window dressing - no pun intended.

BB's market share has not been reduced in the predictions as they expect BB OS 10 to be good.
IOS phones will be manufactured by only apple, so the number of devices will be very less & apple phones will be only high end devices .
WP8 will surely improve & they have phones in the mid tier as well as high end & have many devices, though not high as android devices...
So the predictions are kinda believable.

I don't see how WP is complicated like most of the people here say. It is in fact the simplest and easiest to use OS among the 3. Just because it's different and not as mainstream does not mean it is complicated. It is like saying 1 + 2 = 3 is more complicated than X + Y = Z, just because you are too used to alphabets and not numerals.
