The manufacturers have extensive market studies and they figure out what will sell the most. No one would release big phones if people wouldn't preffer them instead of compact ones.
On the other hand, I do believe that there should be enough variety on the market to fulfill everyone's needs. Right now, there is indeed a lack of new, slim models, but that means that the number of people who would go for a compact phone is shrinking, possibly becoming a niche.

Why Redmi cannot fill the market with phones what's the point in getting new models?
Example they came out with Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in Mar 2020, and all that has happened is a few flash sales which last a few seconds.

For whatever sake. We should at least hear news of compact and nice spec smartphones.
Their just so inconsistent on their camera design. The note 9 has a weird looking design now the 9 is taking its cousin's.

Nothing wrong with giant sized phones if that's what you want. The trouble is that's all the Android world is providing, try finding an up-to-date phone with a screen size of approx 5 inches... the industry is ignoring the potential of untapped demand for a smaller phone in favour of screen size as a leading marketing point.

bad position for finger sensor. camera will always dirty by mistake touches instead of finger sensor

We Have only some android compact phone this year! Only Apple's iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone SE 2020, in android probably we will have new Pixel which will be compact too, in budget phone i don't know any new and good. so we have enough big phones, but compact ...

This will be a 150 to 170 $ phone and people are still whinging about what it should get and what it shouldn't get. Like seriously? What do you guys want in a 150$ phones? This is a good phone, way better than redmi 8 and redmi 7...
