cannot agree more :))))

As I posted before, the DxOmark scoring system is not 100 percent accurate and sometimes does not reflect real life scenarios, but this does not mean that it is very helpful website for people who are looking to buy a phone with a good cameras.

After the big brand names with a large fanboys base lost the top places in DoX scoring system, we started to see these fanboys attacking the website in every occasion.

SteveFOX, 05 Jun 2020Sony are taking a different approach to cameras in their fl... morethe new IMX555/557 sensors are have resolution of 12MP but bigger in size compared to the sensors of pixel 2,3,4 and iPhone XS/11 Series.
      1/1.67" vs 1/2.55" sensor size
      1.8micron vs 1.4micron pixel size

an almost 6 months old article that describes quite well the dxomark's testing usefulness:

I have an issue with the "DXOmark testing protocol", which leaves randomly out specific capabilities. E.g. the OnePlus 8 Pro normally should be awarded extra points for having a proper macro camera, which other competitors don't have. So phones with strong zoom capabilities, like Huawei P40 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra get extra points for having a periscope lens (because telephoto IS evaluated) but OnePlus 8 Pro gets zero extra points for a genuinely nice and useful macro lens. Similar for Sony smartphones, which don't get properly evaluated for their enhanced HDR capabilities in Manual Mode, because DXOmark tests only auto mode.
I think that the OnePlus should get 3-5 points for its macro lens and that puts it firmly in the 5-6 best camera phones.

Somewhat same camera as 7 pro and price has exceeded the expectation.. 1+ should focus on quality competetive products with less EXPENSES ON COSTLY STAR POWER. .Most the expenses of 1+ is to oay for ADVT AND THE FACES IN IT. .Huawei doin nice R AND D

You try shooting fast moving objects with the pixel bayer sensors and you'll see why Sony and Apple still go for conventional 12MP senors (much faster reaction time compared to bayers).
The trade-off is low-light performance, which frankly, isn't such a big deal when you need perfectly still subjects and longer exposure to get good photos.

It's clear Huawei are a generation ahead in cameras, as they started using custom sensors from Sony (which cost God knows how much) with the P20 series.
You see all major flagships packing custom/proprietary sensors this year (X2 Pro and Oneplus Pro using IMX689, S20 Ultras nanocell, X50 using IMX589)
Streamline Sony sensors (x86) are left for mid-range or lower devices and fail to even match the IMX600 in the P20 Pro which is 2 years old!

Anonymous, 05 Jun 2020DxOMark is a joke these days. Yeah!. since samsung, Sony and other popular "android flagships" stoped toping the DXOmark (and when Iphones started toping) rankings, DXO became joke.
When Samsung and other phones with high megapixels where toping the DXOmark rankings, you never came up with these conspiracy theories. Fanboys are really blind.
