CEol, 12 Jun 2020Nobody "comprende" as Muiu is nothing else but an ios copy ... moreIs that why you can do a thousand different things on MIUI that simply won't be possible on iOS?
According to my estimation, IOS will catch up with miui 12 in the year 2035.

The so called charger is actually a power source specced for certain voltages and currents (amperages). It has a negociation protocol, which tells the phone what kind of charging voltages and currents it provides. The standards are USB Battery Charging Standard 1.2 (old, from 2010) and USB Power Delivery 2.x (can't remember the current minor version just now), propietary ones include Qualcomms QuickCharge 1.0-4.0 (4.0 is partially compatible with USB PD 2.0), OnePlus Dash/Warp Charge and others. The device (phone, tablet etc.) requests the voltage and current it wants to use for charging its battery. And old phone might only be compatible with USB BC 1.2, in which case it requests 1.5A at 5V, that is 7.5W. It doesn't matter if the charger is 7.5W or 120W, if everything follows standards properly. Sometimes they don't and in such cases you will usually end up with some failover setting, typically 1A at 5V (5W).
In other words: the power output of the charger is much less relevant than what kind of charging circuitry and battery the actual device has. You can already take a high power laptop USB PD charger and used it with a USB PD phone quite safely, even if the phone is old but supports USB PD fully; let's say something like a Lumia 950 from 2015. The charger will simply provide 2A at 9V (18W), which is what the Lumia 950 uses. This of course works only within the standard, which is why any other proprietary charging standards besides USB PD are unnecessary and actually stifle overall development of phone charging by fragmenting the market. (Looking at you OnePlus and others.)

Bloooope, 09 Jun 2020You realize where essentially all consumer electronics are ... moreEvery company has a different standards, e.g. both Ulefone and iPhone are assembled in China but that doesn't mean they're following the same procedure and has same quality control. Even with chinese brands there's a great disparity, Huawei is much higher quality brand than previously mentioned Xiaomi. Great indicator is for example IP ratings - you need a very delicate manufacturing process to protect the device from dust and water. Xiaomi hasn't been able to provide IP rating even on their 1000 usd flagship, and even on very few phones that actually managed to snatch some rating, it's usually some pisspoor IP53 (like recent Redmi 10X) which is basically equivalent of no protection whatsoever. Meanwhile, actual high quality brands like LG are able to pass not only IP68, but even mil-spec tests even on their lower midrangers (e.g. LG Q70 that costs around 300 eur).
So yeah, Xiaomi is in my view a 'cheap' brand (despite being really expensive lately), and I absolutely would not trust their 120W charger in my house.

In smartphone everything is getting inovated from chipset to ram and rom to display to camera and much more but the battery is the only things that is not inovating...........don't get me wrong increasing the capacity of battery is not a innovation.Innovation such as low heat production or increasing the life of battery is necessary but wait wait they won't do it because battery is the first thing in phone that gets the problem so if they inovate then if a battery last for 3-4years then their buisness will go down.A serious innovation is required in the field of lithium ion batteries we are using the same batteries that we have used in 2016 just the difference is now they have more capacity and fast charging ability thats all.

YUKI93, 09 Jun 2020120W charging for a laptop is fair enough. But for a phone?... moreXiaomi offers mobile chargers that also can power/chareg your laptop. They have even pointed this out themselves about the 65W charger bundled with Mi 10.

Really, some of you seemed to have skipped the basic physics classes at school!
You cannot 'push' watts into a device, you could have a 1kW charger but your phone would just draw the 18W or whatever it needs from the charger and certainly not explode!
It has been difficult to make higher power chargers that are still compact, it needs the latest component technology to do it. With 120W you could fully power a laptop and charge a phone at the same time from the same compact charger.

Carol, 09 Jun 2020Oh, so to make a bigger charger is called innovation? Why d... moreIt's not just making a charger bigger, you also need to make the phone able to handle that and there you need innovation.
