120W Xiaomi charger handled in short video

08 June 2020
This seems to be an upgrade on the 100W charger that Xiaomi demoed last year (but never released).

MIUI is what iOS can only dream of being.
It's a much advanced operating system compared to handicapped iOS.

This is just a prototype and it's normal to try to push the limits. Otherwise, how are we supposed to learn and improve the technologies? Even if it doesn't end up on the shelves, it will still have taught valuable lessons to the company about handling overheating issues and finding solutions to various problems which will make upcoming products better and safer.

And, with the ever-increasing battery capacity on mobile phones, solutions need to be offered so that people don't spend a full day charging their phones. Solutions which are safe and reliable, hence these experiments.

Oppo and its subsidiary Realme has done 65W earlier. Xiaomi only steals tech and assume as they've stole nothing. Not to mention its OS is partially stolen from OneUI and iOS. I did not say their handsets are bad, though.

Their phones would explode with 100W charging without proper faster charging tech.
You can't just increase numbers without proper fast charging tech.

Companies like Apple are stalling innovation by limiting charging to 18W and supplying piss poor 5W charger in box while Xiaomi supplying 65W charger in the box for phones supporting 50W fast charging.

Who cares? Xiaomi is a company from a country we should not trade with and definitely should not support, considering their shady practices and their authoritarian regime that requests access and control over any and all businesses and technologies in their country.

The MI 10 Pro is the real competition to OnePlus 8 pro, not Mi 10.
It only loses out on 120hz display.
            Rest is on par.

Although Xiaomi did fck it up with pricing.
By no means, it is an inferior phone just overpriced.

Lol, Xiaomi's Mi 10 Pro 5G is a total ripoff compared to the already-premium OnePlus 8 Pro. Way too expensive and with much inferior specs. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Xiaomi starts to charge big money for their charger or other accessories.

120W charging for a laptop is fair enough. But for a phone? I'm not sure if I want one.

An 6000 mHa big laptop battery has enough space to release heat, also is better constructed to support the strain it will be underput and even that battery is not forced with 100w more like 20. Their is a reason for all the restrictions, as their is a reason why Car's are not made to run 1000 kmh it is called taking security messures. And nope, the chinese did not found a better way to dissipate heat and nope software won't help that much against fast corrosion of the lithium strukture either, they just found that naming "high" specks makes the avarage joe spend some money.

Good bye to battery life in 6 months if you regularly use this charger.

AT posted an article about new switch-cap circuitry today (I think?), one of the big things mentioned is the importance of efficiency and heat dissipation. I wish tech journalism and PR had more focus on the technology behind the numbers, it seems all that matters is the latter and the end result.

If the software recognizes it properly to trickle charge when it's closer to full, it will be fine. But you probably didn't think about that, simp.
