But this is xiaomi, is not like they have any knowlege, or know what they are doing. they just throw specks out there and sell cheap. Well, at least in the past, were cheap.

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2020Go home amateur, this is superior fast charging tech at pla... moreAmateur..........well u are the one who is amateur did u know enything about science or heat production and how it works??.See fast charging ia good but year after year the charging speed is modified or increased but the lithium battery are in that same level how it was in 2016 their is very little inovation that takes place in case of lithium battery. That 120w may charge ur ph in 5mins but the heat it will produce will be huge and that heat will reduce the life of the battery

People don't seem to understand the full picture of fast charging. Yes, it's blazing fast, but no matter what cooling solution you have on the outside of the battery, the internal heat will degrade the battery before it's dissipated away. Unless you have the cooling solution between the lithium layers.

ELI5: Imagine people walking into a cool room and filling it up. It's much easier to fill it up than people charging into the room, especially when the room is beginning to be filled up - all that wasted energy is turned into heat.

        120W phone charger?

Why not 1000W phone charger? So you can charge your smartphone battery to 100% in 5 minutes while burning down your house at the same time.

        /s.

Charge a phone battery with 120w, you will get an overheating battery that will degrade faster over time. It may end up on fire.
It is ok for laptops to charge with that power because their batteries are way bigger physically which gives more room to dissipate heat, unlike phones.

How soon until we have a major scandal with Chinese phones catching fire in this relentless pursuit for spec numbers?

But as far as I know MSi has a charger that exceeds 200W.

I am still using my LG V20 2016 DEC. Every single one of the phone I ever had, battery is the first to fail, and when a battery doesn't hold up anymore, you go get a new battery, not a new phone, and same thing goes with relationship. Back in the days we were born in a time when if something was broken, we would FIX it, not just throw it away.

Like oppo says it has 65W.

Whats the point to whine about how long these batteries last with the fast charging when people change there phones lick socks these days. There are not much people left who stay with one phone for 5 years. Some change there phones every after 6 months then some in every after 1 year. These who have phone for 2 years plus are already heroes
