Xiaomi offers sneak peek at the Mi Notebook before tomorrow's event: 1080p display, Core i7 CPU

10 June 2020
Presumably this will be the top-tier model with some more affordable processors also available. SSD and a large battery are also on the cards.

Anonymous, 10 Jun 2020if they had ryzen they would have reduced price by at least 10kThey won't . Amd lack of engineer so they can't provide enough support to manufacturer . Manufacturer have to use their own money to do amd work if they intended to use amd CPU . The price might be higher when manufacturer migrate the cost to consumer .

SigmaR, 11 Jun 2020I don't understand this obsession with the ryzen. Yes, it's... moreNothing wrong with Intel CPU. Its just that given a choice at the same price point, a Ryzen CPU and its APU will perform better than Intel. Similar issue like the Samsung S20 series, would you prefer Exynos or SD CPU if both are at the same price point.

Is Exynos consider bad if there is no Snapdragon as a comparison?

SigmaR, 11 Jun 2020no need, the Iris plus G7 is practically on par with the MX150Do you mind sharing me the proof? I'm interested in a new laptop and if the g7 is that good, I'm gonna skip looking for mx150 laptops.
Based on this website, mx150 has way higher fps in games

Adinatsu, 10 Jun 2020Is ryzen that good ?. Yesterday i saw an article on tom har... moreSome manufacturer tweaking with the power that ryzen can use, and thus (might be) resulting in Ryzen CPU to have shorter life. But some of the news said that the effect is negligible. So yeah Ryzen CPU is still better compared to Intel.

I don't understand this obsession with the ryzen. Yes, it's a great cpu but so is the i7 1065G7 (and the i5 for what matters) it is still superior in single core performance and it has a very good iGpu. It almost seems that notebooks won't work without an AMD chip nowadays.
If the price is good, then I welcome the Intel cpu

Not giving us an option for a ryzen 4000 series CPU is just pure stupidity

Adinatsu, 10 Jun 2020Is ryzen that good ?. Yesterday i saw an article on tom har... moreRyzen 4000 series absolutely destroys Intel chips.

Z, 10 Jun 2020No ryzen, no buy :(ryzen will be on laptops full steam by next year, they need to R&D the motherboard, chipset and all other components to produce it, unlike intel they already have the previous technical data to just improve it a little for the 10th gen cpu

No info about the GPU used? Hopefully it comes with at least a Geforce MX150 GPU.

Anyway, the specs are not interesting in the slightest, and all SSDs are 30x faster than 5400rpm rust.
Can anyone name an ultrabook with an SSD, a high(ish)-end Intel CPU, and a 1080p screen?

Adinatsu, 10 Jun 2020Is ryzen that good ?. Yesterday i saw an article on tom har... moreFrom what I recall off Anandtech, that was a BIOS function Motherboard OEMs were adding so they could beat opposition in performance. The CPUs themselves are lovely, in mobile they beat Intel handily at everything but OEMs give them low-end discrete GPUs, which isn't AMD's fault.

Are they really marketing the FullHD Display with "When less. Means more"

Z, 10 Jun 2020No ryzen, no buy :(Is ryzen that good ?. Yesterday i saw an article on tom hardware that ryzen processors are doing some sort of power cheating ( something like that ) ... that may at the end shorten the cpu life... is that so ?

Laptops are like cell phones when it comes to form-factors... they really only matter on day 1. You know, like when you get that new slick-looking smartphone and you just gaze at it in amazement of how awesome it looks, but then you almost drop it and are like "SHIT, I gotta get this thing in a case RIGHT NOW". Then you have these weird, almost sexual-like interludes with your phone where occasionally you will strip it out of its case to look at it naked...

Yeah, laptops are kind of like that. You know when you buy that super-thin and light laptop and you're just in awe of how much power they crammed into such a tiny package. You hold it one hand and lift it up and down a few times and are like, "Damn, it's so light!". Then you use it on your lap for a few hours and feel it burning your skin through your denim jeans, and you start to think about things like testicular cancer... Then you realize that getting a lap-desk is probably the best way to use your thin and light laptop. The thought that perhaps you should have gotten a bigger, more powerful laptop for the same price since you ended up putting it on a lap-desk anyway crosses your mind briefly, but you quickly dismiss it.
