My phone, which was made in 2018 from spare parts, considering that it barely can run android 7, even though my old trusty j3 with its 1.1 GHz quad core and 1.5 gb ram could run One UI so much better than my Alcatel Verso with a 1.09GHz quad core and 2 gb ram. I have lost support, my CPU is a Snapdragon 210/212, which I believe is running on 32-bit along with the OS. Rip me, good thing cricket is forcing me to upgrade in Febuary because there dropping the 3g network and my phone doesn't for some unknown reason support 4g calls, on 3g. Alas, I see it lags on the A10e, but runs fine on a J2 Pure. Very interesting

Fans, 16 Jun 2020Those phones are far from being used by everyone. Supportin... moreDude there is plenty of 2019-2020 phones sold by major brands that has a 64bit CPU yet they come with 32bit OS why? Because 32bit runs faster and you claiming the phones are old and obsolete argument just fell flat on its face... Plus the e-waste and planet is gonna be FUBAR much faster if we keep trashing every piece of tech in less than 1 year!!! >:(

darodassa, 16 Jun 2020Who the hell still uses a 32-bit phone or one that is over ... moreThey still sell 32bit phones in 2020 Motorola sells shitloads, TECNO sells shitloads, Nokia, Amazon, BLU, Wiko, my|phone(PH), myPhone(PL), Cherry Mobile, Micromax, Cubot & several more brands do this including even smaller brands that non of us have heard of, oh right I am gonna make a wild bet but Fairphone 2 probably is also a 32bit phone since it has 801 SOC and runs Android 9! The whole point of Fairphones is a repairable and eco friendly solution that is long term!!! Its from 2015 and got Android 9 on a SoC that doesnt support it!!!!!! When this planet is FUBAR maybe humanity will learn?

For example, the packaging for a Moto phone boasts "64 bit processor" but does mention 32 bit OS.

That includes models that are only a year old! I bought 2 new phones for my nephews this last xmas they are 12 and 16yrs old and there phones are in this catagory. I shouldnt have to spend a fortune to rebuy phones to support 64bit os. If the phone has a 64bit cpu I think the manufacture should have the option to update to a 64bit os. Thats the phone companys screwing us over honestly... They like making there quick money on a product and then stop supporting it with updates so you have to buy new devices every couple years. Its ridiculous...

What people are not realizing is that Play Store IS the reason for this. Google is forcing most App Developers to update their programs to only work for 64 bit OS.
Unfortunately, this is going to affect some more recent phones, including some released last year.

I'm surprised they actually got their heads out of their backsides. This decision was gonna cost them close to 1/2 their users at least.

Who the hell still uses a 32-bit phone or one that is over 5 years old? It's time to throw that out anyway, not just because of Pokemon Go. The entire playstore should drop 32-bit support to get people away from these junky phones and force them to get something better.

wbpwns, 15 Jun 2020People still play this??? It literally gets over 70 million monthly players. Its still a top 10 most popular mobile game. Just cause youtubers ran out of content doesnt mean the game is dead. Go to any populated park in an urban area during Wednesday if you wanna see how many people play. They added new "raid hours" so every populated park is filled to the brim with people playing. Definitely not a dead game
