Anonymous, 12 Jun 2012Mean while Android user need to pay a fotune for a 3rd part... moreI can't get my head around the fact that people use their phones as a single point for navigation. It's OK to use it here and there when you need directions. But, for an actual lengthy trip, it wouldn't make any sense. Why don't people just get a standalone GPS unit for long trips?

Having said that, you can still use true offline maps with google on Android now.

Whatchasay, 12 Jun 2012Not sure it's up to Nokia Drive yet. Offline navigation is... moreI am an iPhone user please forgive me for my choice of handset. I also have a Lumia 800 it is brilliant for mapping, the sat nav hasn't let me down yet. Nokia Drive is fantastic. If Apple have a true partnership with TomTom then the mapping will be very good. And I can slim down to one phone.

I'm guessing it will work in the UK. Apple also said it would point out over one million businesses too.I'm guessing if it is anything like Siri it will be only in the USA that has business listings and not in the UK or other regions? Can anyone clarify that at all?

tomtom is one of the worse navigation systems
                        the coverage is very poor
maybe this partnership will improve that
                        but knowing apple, it wont
again, if will be ok if used in usa or some wolthy european country, but other countries maps will be rubish

At last. Comes as default. No need to spend hard earned money to buy a navigator. Thanks Apple!
