Try updating it OTA. I did a couple of hours back (some 23 MB file).

hi guys . i need help i mean when i tried to update my galaxy s3 firmware it says ur pc cannot recognize your cell turn ur cell off take off ur batt and then put back on and restart it after dat try to update again.so i did dat so many times but it always stuck at the point of updating why is dat any one plz help

On topic, checked for OTA updates, still nothing in India.

reviews say the S3 is less bloated, and more streamline
thats so misleading
its the extra functionality that HTC put in the One X that makes is such a fantastic phone
you can never understand till you have spent a few weeks using a HTC over a Samaung
here is one example
in the S3 you have a seperate dial pad, seperate call log, seperate contacts, and you cant see all your calls and messages to and from a particular person without going through many tedious menus.
HTC all you need is contacts, you can easily see all calls and messages to and from each contact.
HTC when you want to go to the dialpad, you can get strait to it
but with S3 its like the iphone where it could take you to the contacts, call log or favourites depending on what you were using last,
HTC wins in every way for user interface
its little things like this that make HTC Sence the best overlay to android
Beats Samsung Sence hands down.
dont get me wrond the S3 is a great phone, i am using one because my netword will not release the One X
but given the choice i would go a One X any Day

but i dont use Ai keyboard, i use Smart Keyboard
its cheaper and exactly like the HTC keyboard
HTC definitely have the best keyboard.

This is my second antroid after S2. And also i had one Iphone4. I returned my Ip4 inorder to get S3. Well wht i hav typed thats my experience with the mobile. U r telling me to wait for 30 cycles. Well bro, samsung going to release new update regarding the battery issues, they already aware abt the same. And i think u didnt read my review full. Im nt that unhappy Cx who wrote abt the Mobile. I love my mob. But that doesnt mean that i cant talk abt the negatives. Its from my experience dude.
Next issue is the screen brightness. It dims the screen while watching videos. Its not a big deal. But when u watch some videos it automatically does. I tried by turning off the auto brightness option. Also i turnd off the power saving mode. but its keep on doping the same thing .
Next is my message box always showing the symbol 1. indicates one unread msg still inside. But I read all the msges. I tried by deleting all the messages from my inbox, but still showing the same symbol. I restarted the Mobile then its fixed. Thses are not major issues. And i believe all these will b rectified by the new updates

Also, I have noticed a strange issue with the phone, I haven't applied any updates yet. The display turns on automatically and takes me to lock screen. If I don't do anything, it dims and turns off, then turns on again. This happens repetitively. Can anyone who has S3 please check and let me know if this is happening for your device? I am from India.

Completed four days with my new Samsung GS-III .. Excellent phone, and I think I will keep on discovering new features for several more days.
The advertisement claim "Designed for Humans" ... I am a bit skeptic about this statement ... Android by default is meant for "humans" with some technical backgrounds. It is not as user friendly as Nokia Symbian.
This is my second Android after Samsung GS-II ...
My major issue is that Samsung has failed to provide good customer support. I could not upgrade my firmware for GS-II to ICS .. Perhaps Samsung does not take Pakistan seriously.
My wish list includes better interface with the computer. I really hope Samsung could get rid of Kies and develop something like Nokia Suite or Nokia PC Suite.
I remained a very loyal Nokia customer for a very long time. I still have a Nokia N8, and I am thinking about getting hold of Nokia Pureview. Best thing about Nokia is its user friendliness and indeed the computer integration through Nokia Suite or Nokia PC Suite.
