Damn, this is why I do NOT come on GSMarena as much as i used to. Reading half of these comments by some clueless know it alls who assume the worst, copy and paste their arguments about the S3 from others without any cohesive thoughts of their own without actually owning the device makes you just cringe. And about the cores argument being compared to a Ferrari being non fuel efficient, that has to be the most moronic analogy ever by a know it all with simplistic generalisations that ASSUMES once again. If you don't know anything about processor technology and are the casual consumer basing their opinions on other fanatical Nokia/Apple fanboys without facts or concrete evidence to back up your claims and just hate Samsung because of their success and not owning the S3, you do are not qualified to give a relevant opinion on the matter.

Tizen Takeover, 13 Jun 2012Why the heck would you need improved stability with a Quad ... moreI think you mixed something up!
          stability != performance
Stability on android means your phone won't just reset itself on its own or you won't get force closes (FC) on apps.
(Granted, Samsung can't influence poorly written apps to not FC.)
But on the other hand, if Samsung would release a performance update for their SGS3, it would mean that previous versions didn't use all cores efficiently.
Hope this clears things up for you and other readers.

mariosraptor, 13 Jun 2012make a few charging cycles first for the battery to show it... moreGuessing from the SGS3's battery type (Li-Ion) it needs more like 5-7 charging cycles to reach its maximum potential and not 30. You should reach this in a week.

Guys, i bought S3 last week. I dnt understand why all the sites given positive reviews for s3 so far. Well i bought this stuff aftr seeing the reviews. Its a gud mobile to buy but not worth for 38k.
Im really disapponited in the field of battery performance. I turnd off my S while charging. But when i turn on its starts with 99%. While using the net , whithin 10 minutes i lost 3-4% charge. Just imagine whithin 10minutes on FB app u lose 4% charge.
I loved the feature pop and play
Dnt even think abt the smart stay. It wont work well.
Next is S beam. For that u need another s3!!
S voice, u will tired of wid that feature, forget abt it. Except for playing with that u wont use that feature to do your stuffs
                Super display and HD clarity
ICS is good no force close so far
face recognition is ICS feature not s3's.
But even all these I love my S3(I dnt hav any other option:P)
HAve a feeling that u got the latest mobile in ur hand, except that its just another antroid mobile..

samsung cheat, 13 Jun 2012in the middle east it different we dont have network carrie... moreI have friends in the Middle East; you do have carriers that sell phones locked to their network, or you can buy unlocked phones & use on any network - it's the same as other countries.

If you bought your phone on a monthly contract (paid little or nothing upfront) then it's carrier locked...means your carrier is the one who's holding back the update because they haven't got it ready.

Yes it's possible that Samsung might not have the Arabic language versions of the update ready, however others on here in the Middle East say they have the update so sounds like Samsung has released it there for unlocked phones.

Why the heck would you need improved stability with a Quad Core Device? Seriously does this device lag? If so, That is a pitiful use of the cores.

Anonymous, 13 Jun 2012I got S3 32 GB and I have almost 26 Gb space for system...I... moreI have 4gb left ouf of 16gb, for installing games / apps.

Here's the real thing, seems like you weren't needing a quad core phone afterall: I have my usual apps which i think don't require more than 500-700mb.. then add a real GPS app like sygic with 1 / 2 maps : 1gb. Install a few demanding games : Nova 3 - 2gb. GTA3 - 800mb. Mass Effect 1gb. Dungeon Hunter 3 1gb. This does about 6gb.
I won't detail everything i got installed on my phone, but i have for now 2.4gb free out of the 11gb usable. You have to let at least 300-400mb for the system, because you ll get malfunctions like unable to receive sms or so. So despite what you are thinking, google added that move to SD function since GB i think for this good reason. but it's useless to explain things on gsma, it's everytime the same thing.

So now, to anyone who got that update installed : is this function available? Or like a mate who was saying, we ll have to rely on XDA-devs for that..
