I'm not sure why that SoC never... moreI find SD675 is one of the rare name seq by qualcomm, the CPU power is pretty much in the league of the 7xx series with A76 cores, but they put it in the 6xx series, and basically outshadowed by all the 7xx. Even the SD670 is only on A75.

      Viper, 17 Jun 2020Wait a minute u are compairing 855 with 730.Yeah they both ... moreSD855 is A76, same as SD730... SD865 is the one with A77...

Anway, 4+4 or 2+6 should be the determine factor to say if the chip is efficient or weak performance, those largely depends on the technology and the manufacturing process. 4+4 chips can be very battery efficient, while 2+6 chips can also be very powerful when compared to competition chip in the same price range.

Besides, Why would Samsung even do that ?
About Google pixel SoC. Why would Samsung use AMD processor while they can use Exynos. Besides AMD isn't known for SoC making. Samsung is the one who's making SoC.

Why're you even thinking about that which isn't going to happen.
2021's most interesting(and confused) SoC will be Qualcomm 875.
          Qualcomm is in big trouble.

Just higher numbers are always better, and the marketing now is working hard and people get caught ij it..

Another chipset for Qualcomm in their 5G series. Any news on the what price range would this sit at?

Viper, 17 Jun 2020I a article it was mentioned that amd C7 will have a 2core ... moreAMD SoC using the cortex X1 is very unlikely. I'm not saying it's impossible. But when X1 was introduced we knew that this performance core is only for specially partnered SoC maker. So, the partners are specific. One can't just rush in and use the core in their SoC.
The SoC maker must be in that X1 program or that SoC maker won't get their hands on cortex X1. For example : Suppose Qualcomm and Samsung are in the program. So, only Qualcomm and Samsung get to use X1 core and Huawei or MediaTek do not.
So, we can almost be 90% sure that AMD with cortex X1 core isn't happening.

About the GPU. Samsung has been working years for the GPU(This is why Samsung could make the Crap Mali GPU much more powerful and efficient than Kirin or Mediatek every year except this year exynos 990). It's not all AMD's knowledge in the GPU.
If it were then AMD could have done it alone. AMD can make good GPU/CPU but they can't make it efficient. Samsung is the one who's taking the Computer level efficient GPU down to mobile level efficient.
So, giving AMD independence to use the GPU in mobile market is highly unlikely.

Even if I take your information(rumor) to be true. From the specs I can tell that this SoC isn't going to be used in mobiles.
2 cortex X1 core running at 3.0 GHz and then 2 cortex A78 running at 2.8GHz is not going to be an efficient processor for mobile. To be efficient the must be no more than 1 cortex x1 core running at 3.GHz, no more than 1 cortex A78 core running at 2.6+ GHz.
If the rumors are true(which is not) it's definitely a SoC designed for chromebook or Laptop.

I was kind of expecting the Snapdragon 775, after GSMArena teased it yesterday. It's nice to see a new 600 series memeber, though, especially with 5G. I wonder how it stacks up to the 765G, performance-wise.

Anyway, they are just about at the upper spectrum of the 600s, name-wise. They can, MAYBE, squeeze in a 695 and a 698, but what are they gonna name this series afterwards? They'll probably just start from the beginning again (610, 620, etc.).

Entering mobile SoC business is not easy. Their SoC won't be efficient.
If you're talking about power, then I must say that there is high possibility that AMD doesn't have access to the powerful Cortex X1 core. So, that makes it less powerful.
About GPU. I'm not really sure about that. Because the deal between Samsung and AMD is kinda foggy thing. But I'm pretty sure Samsung won't let the GPU be used in an AMD SoC which will be used in a mobile.

I'm actually curious to see what Nokia and Motorola can do with this chipset. Seeing this chipset as the successor of the 675, I definitely would like to see a successor to the Motorola One Zoom.
