Oneplus 8Pro has better display, better camera setup (with superior IMX689), better overall system-wide optimization for high refresh display (with dedicated MEMC chip, Operating System level optimization). Oneplus 8Pro has a much more premium feel and look, and is overall superior in terms of design aesthetics.

Lot of these retailers are selling stuff brought from flash sales and selling it for 2-5k more.
I got mine 2 days back at 62k for 12/256gb Ultramarine Blue version from local store.
People also selling these box packed ones on online marketplaces.
S20 is a good choice if you are getting Snapdragon variant.
With Exynos variant, it's a bad buy considering the extra Rs.20k that you have to shell out.

What is the size of the market for OnePlus phones in India? How may units of OnePlus 7 series and OnePlus 7T series were collectively sold in India? Are we talking about a few millions, hundred of thousands, or much less?
I do know the size for the following "popular" phones sold in India:
-- Redmi K20 series (all models): sold less than ~200000 units by March, 2020.
-- Xiaomi Pocophone F1 (2018): sold ~600000 units by July 2019.

But that's how it goes with people of similar ideology as mine - don't patronize us by playing the flash sales game. We will end up paying more for a brand that respects us as customers - if a product is available you can buy it; if it is not, they won't gaslight you through flash sales.

I had to desperately replace my LG V20 which had started acting up. Even though I tend to avoid outrightly chinese phone brands, I was in the market for OP8 Pro. The flash sales gimmick felt extremely disparaging to me as a potential customer. Amazon tends to show upper limit on units available, and I could see that one of the top end OP8 pro models showed "0 out of 1 products remaining" on the 15th June sale on Amazon.
Is that all that the brand needs to sell to start screaming sold out"

So the flagship-killing OnePlus.
-Costs upward of INR 45K. And that's the cheapest in any market. More expensive in the rest of the world
-No SD card slot, headphone slot
-Barely any service centres or offline support
-Sells fewer phones than Google's rather ordinary Pixel
And I am sure, revealing unnecessary details like how many units were up for sale is not part of company policy. Revealing how many minutes it sold in, though, very much is.

Alexa, 25 Jun 2020I think they put very limited number of units for sale like... moreThe very reason it's out of stock is that local retailers are booking and buying online as they have leverage with these online stores, out of 100 percent 95 percent are bought by them, and does gsmarena post how many units has one plus received for refund & replacements, no, it's a junk device does with sd865, they couldn't solve the green tint issue on op7t till date, cameras are still sht,all these reviews on YouTube and else where are just part of sales scam, people who are shouting that samsung devices are also having same issue don't realise that it didn't have issue from the start so it's not a manufacturing issue like this OnePlus junk

Good luck with the phone India.
If I leave mine in the sun for 10 minutes when about 23 degrees here in the UK or when it is in the car window used as a sat nav it sends an overheated message.

For me, I am disappointed, because I suspect that, despite the seemingly near-stock Android appearance of Oxygen OS, there are probably quite extensive, deep changes, as it is the habit of Chinese smartphone manufacturers, and bugs always creep in.

paintbuckets, 25 Jun 2020Wear OS is trash anyway to begin with.This is irrelevant. First, Wear OS is Google's watch operating system, so whether it is trash or not, it is still somehow basic functionality for Android. Imagine if the Google Maps app didn't work on an Android. It's the same.
Second the bug is definitely on OnePlus side, because the connectivity issue affects all three of my watches, whereas I didn't have any issues with my previous phone. Let alone that Reddit and OnePlus Community forum are full with people's complaints.

Let's just hope that in India there aren't many Wear OS users, because I am extremely angry with my OnePlus 8 Pro and its inability to keep connected to my Wear OS watches. Totally pathetic if you consider that Wear OS is the default smartwatch operating system for Android phones. Either OnePlus fixes this fast or I chuck my 8 Pro and get a Sony Xperia 1 II.
