Well done to Apple and Samsung.
I heard that the Nokia Windows phones are doing quite well in some countries, especially in US. HTC One X is also getting good response in a few markets.
This shows that the smartphone segment is getting more and more competitive, which is good for smartphone users like me! where I will have more options then.
second half of 2012 looks very exciting for sure!
BTW, sorry for Blackberry, if u know what I mean...

Yes, I know my comment was a bit off, but now imagine your only choice in year 2016 is a phone with 720p resolution, quad-core 2.0 GHz CPU and 2 GB RAM for 2000 €. And you bet that any company would do this if it would be possible!
I know my next phone will not be a Scamsung (SGS1 --> ICS fiasco)!
1. kill competition
2. buy them out
3. MAX efficiency --> lower R&D budget + higher prices
It's just the way capitalism works! Don't you agree? ;P

As far as I know
Nokia(N9 and N808) and Samsung(S3)use "POLY CARBONATE", which is basically PLASTIC.
But they don't brag about its material superiority, because they know it's ridiculous, unlike HTC.
HTC is Nothing special in terms of materials.
They use cheap plastic(poly carbonate) and their high end phones tend to be CHEAPER than major 3 brands.
We need to stop to build the quality hype of HTC, which is totally false and misleading.

Now there are many cheap plastic phones HTC and others. There are higher quality plastics from HTC and others. In a Roux about HTC is fairly cheap in materials and quality

I think quality of HTC is a hype. I mean I've seen many guys return their faulty phones.

Android phones have more choice physically inside and out and even feature wise than any other out there right now. You have tiny, medium, large, giant, amoled, lcd, s lcd, s amoled, led, 2mp, 5mp, 8mp, 12mp, 16mp, led flash, dual led, none, full keypad, querty, all touch, even flip, thin, fat, vga, hd, 1080p, black, red, blue, silver, gold, big bezel, little bezel, projectors, rounded, squared, and all so many more.
Not to mention that Android has made some of the biggest OS advancements as compared to os's that only run app drawers. And I also know that the blazing phones are nicer, but it's complete trash talk that none of lower ends work or that they are all slow.
You are smoking dumb if you think you will never run into problems with any phone or any device. Some users have update issues. Especially initially. There is not one single phone out there that is software bug free.

Any company is better than Apple because most other companies are actually making and inventing things.
Samsung makes some of the most advanced hardware parts in mobile and has made some of the biggest inventions and innovations of late for mobiles while also making high quality home electronics and utilities. How do they suck? Oh...cause you're a pitiful Sony fan boy. Got ya.
