Shipping a phone without a charger is retarded.
The headphones on the other hand have always been wasted on me as I don't use them.
However, apple is already shipping the apple watch series 3 without a charger (since series 5 was launched), so there is already a precedent.

Many Manufacturers stopped including headphones long back, since most users have their own, and someone without can purchase once & have it. This helped stop accumulation of headphones.
Like wise for Charger & cable! Purchase a good USB C Charger with cable once and use it with any device. What's the need to include this in every phone by manufacturers!
Hopefully Apple also gets the sense to go universal as far as the charging port on its phones are concerned (USB C instead of proprietary)!

Well we all have our own opinions... maybe how dumb they are but still how can someone justify that not including a charger is actually a good decision ...?.. blind loyality i guess

Removing the accesories and still maintaining high prices to 'reduce' electronic waste is a mockery. However switching to usb C will be a welcome move, which they will in 2022 and claim that as an 'innovation' with fancy names. The widgets that a 2014 huawei mate 7 is coming to the iphone in 2020, and gsmarena talks bells and whistles like they are something new. I am currently saving to get an iphone 12 though but if I get a raw deal I'll look somewhere else. I really wish they switch to usb C so that we can use universal chargers to charge most of these portable electronics.

I find it despicable to motivate „love for the environment“ as the reason to remove the charger. Come on, let's be honest here. We're talking about huge, multinational corporations here. How many forests do they destroy every year, to expand their businesses? They would personally cut down every single tree on this planet, if it would save them from bankruptcy. Give me a break.
The real reason is to MAKE MORE MONEY, whatever it takes. I wouldn't be surprised if they will end up selling their stuff bare, without any box, cable, or adapter whatsoever. Because they care about the environment, right?

If Apple is saleing iPhone without charger then definately they will make some changes in lightening port of new phone so that buyers won't be able to use their old chargers and will be forced to buy new charger seperately for another $200-$300.
