Americans should instead be concerned for their own security within their country. Politicians pushing for backdoors on encrypted phones.....buying and selling personal info without consent....and spyware. I can list others.

Though I'm sure samsung would have probably eventually done something to fight back.
Unfortunately all companies... all.. including Huawei, samsung, Google, sony, etc have started asking way too much while compromising somewhere.

And Google is a threat to all of us who have Android OS with its geolocation apps, isn't it?
The truth is the only threat that the US has from Huawei is that it is becoming the world's largest manufacturer of smartphones.

fair thing to do. China has prospered by corporate espionage and cheap labour. There should be a limit to that! Want a seat at a table then play by the rules. No US services to China or if you want to open a business there need to respect all their strict regulations, then no Chinese products to US

Hmm I'm always baffled about US stories on Huawei especially, technology innovations are not hidden agenda. Whether you like Chinese companies technological advancement or not they have gone miles ahead of their Western counterparts!

Look I am gonna get spied on anyway. I rather have had good tech on my hand. If Huawei Nova 7i had google services, I would have bougt it at an instant. This just means less options for the average consumer. And please don't reply to this with 'national security'. This is just trade war, and we the common people lose out due to arrogance on both sides and characters like that loony trumpy tooon

Many people here are really naive, or just plain ignorant, the threats that USA talkd about, are not related to the silly insignificant cellphones from huawei and zte, NO, it is about the Hardware required to handle all comunications, the hardware that carriers, agencies, corporations etc, use to operate, the cellphones are just one of the ending parts, and they can be of any brand, even if no huawei or zte phones existed, the threat would remain the same

Claiming that Cisco haven't suffered from their security issues is also a half-truth. Ten years ago everything enterprise infrastructure was Cisco. It was the defacto standard. Today a lot is not-Cisco. Like, Juniper and such.

It’s better to stay away from politics unless you have what it takes to become a successful politician. However it’s a shame US consumers will have less choices. Life goes on.
