Weekly poll review: iOS 14 is a solid upgrade, might even get some to switch

05 July 2020
Not everyone is convinced - iOS is still miles behind in terms of customization, but it has the lead in updates and privacy.

How many basic core apps are there compared to 3rd party apps?
    The ratio would be 1:100000.

Besides crash rate for core Apps of Android was still way below the crash rate of apps on iOS.

If majority of the apps (commonly used social media apps) are crashing at a significant rate, how can you call the OS optimized?

I upload my videos to VLC on iPhone directly all the time without having to touch iTunes (haven't touched iTunes for at least 5 years). Technology moves forward. I suggest you should to.

Go set up an Android phone. First thing it would ask is a Google account.

If you're so paranoid about the cloud, you won't be using a smartphone.

iOS 14 is what might bring me back to apple after switching to android for years, ever since they got more and more annoying with locking down jailbreaking. I can’t believe it’s taken this long to get home screen widgets 😂

If the 12 has a decent optical zoom then I might consider switching, but at the moment the iPhones are hugely lacking against androids (compared to my p30 pro the cameras are p*ss poor). But after picking up an iPhone 8 to use with an Apple Watch, having the whole setup being apple works so well with my Mac, and I LOVE the smaller phone size compared to the ridiculous size of top end androids, I can barely sit down without serious injuries to the man jewels with my p30 pro ;)

What it tells about OS If iOS most crashed apps are 3rd apps which aren't developed by Apple, while 8/10 most crashed apps in android are android core features. No Apple apps or services in Apple top 10.

Do u know why Pentagon DOES NOT share ANY data on cloud, even with the highest security possible?
The answer is simple: NEVER TRUST CLOUD.
Pentagon save ALL their data on PHYSICAL drive, which means, NO WAY IN HELL someone could snatch or steal the data unless he/she breach the place.

And, u believe ALL those HOAX say that 'icloud is SUPER SAFE', 'Apple has #1 security for all their products'?

BTW, are u educated enough to understand why someone prefer 'Using a phone instead of a USB stick?'

Why are Instagram, Facebook and snapchat which are the most common apps used across all platforms crashing at a rate of 10% and above?while no such stats for Android, Not even 1% crashing for the above mentioned social media apps.
What happened to the so called optimised Operating system?

Why are failure rates of different iPhone models touching as high as 15% despite having less devices to manage?
While highest failure rate for a particular Android phone didn't exceed 3%.
Most not going past 1% despite the so called fragmentation in the Android ecosystem.

Android has become more stable over the years which means it's even more stable than what it represents in that study 3 years back.

There is a reason why I kept switching back to Android as every switch to iOS with high expectations left me dissapointed with the ecosystem overall.

The majority of people I know that has an iphone don't have the latest iphone, not even the one 2 years before (they have iphone 7, 8, X or even SE 2016). Only one person I know with iphone that has iphone 11 and she bought it without contract or rates. So yeah, no debt in here.

"Their products appeal to the uninformed people."
This is 50%-50%. True, I saw iphone users that have no knowledge of gadgets. But I saw equally number of Android users in the same situation. So, you can't generalize this.

"Most of the innovations in iPhone are geared towards entertainment."
Ha, I think you got it the other way around. Just look at a Samsung phone and you will know what I mean. Everything in Samsung phones screams media consumption.

"For productivity, you don't need to drill a hole in your pocket."
Very true, for this reason see my point 1 explanation. Majority of iphone users don't buy latest and greatest iphone each year. Not even once per 2 years. The phones still run the same as day 1, even for 4-5 years. Can't say the same for an Android phone, not even the flagship ones. Not to mention second hand iphones are way better than second hand Android phones.

                                    "Android is good enough."
This is subjective. Someone can say the same thing about IOS.
