price is not what you wouldn't expect, but the phone has rubbish pixel density (and it's a camera phone and that matters, it should be at least a wvga screen), the processor is, well... slow and 170gr??? i know the camera lens are good but what else is there to carry???

When y'all will understand how cool it is to have the have the best possible gadget in a particular field. I don't see any other phone vendor getting near to the pureview technology in the next 5 years. What does that make you if you have 808? just imagine...

Galaxy s III the best phone in the world? Sure its among the best but not the best because any feature it offers is already being offered by other vendors like Quad core ics etc. They were all they were all here my friends when GS3 came...
BTW quad core is just a metaphor I guess... I'd buy a tegra 3 device instead...

      Lets see how many agrees...

Reading all the comment remind me a lot when symbian first launch. Everyone very xcited. Nowdays everyone keep mention a bad thing about symbian os. Seem like their forget who bringing the most advance os at the first place in smartphone world . Not just being proud with what kind thechnolgy you had, but must never forget who invented the terms of smartphone. Just like no einstien no gravity theory. ;-)

I will prefer to buy Digital SLR camera in ... moreSo true, it's even more expensive than Xperia S and Galaxy SII when the only good thing about the phone was its camera. I'd better get myself a Nikon D3200 since as Smartphone, PV is nearly obsolete.

                    LOL

No group of people get more heated than Nokia fans!
And it's such a shame, because they're obviously so loyal, and that's great to see...

                    BUT

                    Let's be honest here...

The 808 is simply a tech demo / prototype - it's not meant to be a mass-produced 'real' phone... it's simply to show the power of Pureview (which is does brilliantly). This is why Nokia is releasing without fanfare across the globe (no marketing, etc.) and crucially, carriers aren't subsidising it.

This basically means that apart from the loyal fanbase, this phone will go unnoticed... It's not going to sell many AT ALL (I don't think it was meant to) and it will only be next year where Pureview is on a Lumia that we'll see a possible increase in sales...

It's no doubt fantastic technology, but as many review sites have said, it's a good camera with an old phone attached... (i.e. poor resolution, dying OS, severe lack of apps, etc.)...

And that is the problem here... when the most advanced handsets in the world (HTC, Sammy, etc.) are FREE on a contract - you could buy a decent camera and get the best mobile in the world FOR THE SAME PRICE OR CHEAPER!

Unless you're going to be taking pictures ALL THE TIME, it's really not worth the money...

The N8 unfortunately flopped (it was a good handset, cracking design and camera, but again, laggy dying OS killed it) and this is going the same way...

                    BUT

Bring on 2013 with Lumia Pureview - the question is though, how important is a camera to people on a phone? And how great will Winmo 8 improve on the severely lacking 7.5? Only time will tell!

-720p resolution: It just drains battery.

-1080p playback: It really can do it. OMG with single core! :O:O:O And if it is not enough the audio is Dolby Digital Plus 5.1

-128GB Storage: If you fill the 16GB buy a 32GB MicroSD (i heard rumors that 64GB will be supported later) If you fill the whole 48GB, connect your pendrive, or external hard drive (even 1TB) with USB OTG.

-DLNA: Since Nokia Belle, even my N8 has this feature and working good.

-NFC: I don't know why aren't you reading the specifications, it has NFC!

-Bunch of HD games: It really doesn't have tons of HD games, but buy a handheld console if you want to play hours.

-USB OTG: Fully supported, even wireless keyboard and mouse...

                          -Widget: So much widgets available.

-livewall paper: Oh...you caught me. My whole life will be more difficult without this. :(((((

-Cheaper price: Yep, 808 is way more cheaper than android flagships.

I'm feeling sorry for the Galaxy S 3 as it will lose badly against the 808 PureView. Who in their right mind would buy a Samsung anyway? The SGS 3 and iPhone 5 will be HUGE FLOPS and will fail to compete against the best camera phone, the 808 PureView.
