It was a great phone, my brother got the HTC, pretty much anything his phone didn't have mine did, and usually whatever he was doing mine did better, that being said the finish on the s3 was a drag. Tiny little blue speckled paint chips EVERYWHERE. Felt like I was trying so wash off stripper glitter until I got it replaced.

I owned the HTC One X back in the day. It had a pseudo curved glass, although the display was plain but the polycarbonate back seemed to be curved a tiny little bit.
An outstanding feature was that its camera was able to shoot photos while simultaneously recording video.
The LCD display was superb.
It's a shame that such a brilliant company as HTC has lost its mojo and seems to be going the way of the dodo in recent years.
8-10 years ago, the smartphone market was so much more fun than it is today. Nokia, LG, HTC, Samsung, Apple, Sony-Ericsson etc have been innovating both hardware and software in a very fast pace. But in recent years, all smartphones seem to be more or less the same, with main innovation taking place mostly in the camera segment.

Tegra 3 was beast at that time, bought almost 44000 pkr my first flagship device awesome build better than S3 samsung exynos, hope HTC will back

I loved HTC and still love it. I had HTC One V which I sold in 2018 for $230 (the box, and covers I kept for memories). The Sense UI, the build quality, the sound and camera were superb. Also for the good custom rom support. Currently using U Ultra after One M8 died due to sweat 😐. If HTC didn't launched any other flagship I will definitely go for U12+.

The Exynos chipset made developer scene even slower at the time which ain't helping. Not to mention the gloss paint peel off also around 1.5 years in a light-moderate use in the pocket.
And if I remember correctly, Samsung offered 1 major version Android update from 4.2 to 4.3... Did not receive Kitkat at the time...

I owned the phone for good two years, at that time it was the MASTER of all phones! Support on xda was gigantic, plenty of great custom ROMs and kernels. Nvidia GPU had power to run games flawlessly, although it was hot and power hungry. Best phone of it's time, SenseUI was much more optimized then Samsung's, i had them both.
Too sad the company failed, hope it comes back

Loved this phone. HTC was the best back in the days and Sense UI was ages ahead of Samsung's One UI. Also, the support on XDA was incredible. Oh HTC what have you done

I owned an LG Optimus 4X HD with the same Tegra 3 chipset and that is by far the worst chipset I have used in a phone. Quick to overheat and drain the battery, it was good for nothing else except for bragging that you had a quad core chipset on your phone. The audio quality was rubbish on that and on my MiPad which had a Tegra K1 chipset. Maybe most Nvidia chipsets had crap audio quality. I feel that the chipset was the weak link in the HTC One X. The rest of the hardware was good (I don’t personally care for the cameras). Wish polycarbonate made a return instead of the silly glass sandwich we are having now.

r33fd, 05 Jul 2020I actually got this phone just before Galaxy SIII was relea... moreOne x was my first android phone , I was planning to get the galaxy s3 but when i saw it at the stores the display of the one x looked far better and brighter , s3 amoled was dim and had a blueish tone overall. The design also was far better on the one x , camera performance lagged behind it in day light but it beat s3 to pulp in night time photography.

I actually got this phone just before Galaxy SIII was released and regretted it every day I saw one of my friends using the Samsung next to my HTC.
The s3 had an amoled which looked much cooler especially in broad daylight.
The performance was just slightly worse for the HTC but the chip was power hungry and easy to overheat while Samsung was more efficient.
The audio was much much better on the Samsung despite the HTC having the beats brand. I actually thought my HTC was defect at first because of how poor the audio was.
The battery was bad compared to the Samsung because of more hungry chip and display and also lower capacity.
The camera was also worse with higher chances of overexposure and poorer quality overall.
Only thing superior was the material that felt more premium, but I always had a case on it so it did not matter.
When I finally switched my phone I got a Samsung Note 4 and never felt happier in my smartphone life.

It couldn't hurt if HTC went back to the drawing board to focus dominantly on audio (making their own audio chips, headphone jack, and front-facing stereo speakers BOTH with dedicated amps) along with the return of Ultrapixels in modernized form (25UP for main, wide-angle, and 5X optical telephoto/periscope with a 25UP selfie) for total uniqueness from the rest of the mobile world.
Shame their mid-ranger is the total opposite of audio prowess.

that time, HTC One X and Galaxy S3 was the first devices with Quad Core processors.
and both, the Galaxy S3 and One X were beautiful and a solid device. I owned both, and I liked both of them.
