Dimensity 820 shows no throttling at all on repeated Antutu tests while SD855 & SD865 do throttle after multiple tests and thereby dropping in performance.
Expecting the Dimensity 1000 to give similar non throttling performance.

redmi K30 ultra would make for a superb smartphone with the advanced tech of mediatek dimensity 1000, much better than snapdragon's 5g platforms

This smartphone has a rising selfie camera which is a great feature and I think Mediatek Dimensity 1000+ processor in it is also a great prospect.

Dimensity 1000 is better than Snapdragon 855+ :
- GPU are very close
- D1000's Cortex A77 are better then 855+'s renamed Cortex A76
- 855+ can't applied Multiframe Noise reduction over 48MP
- built-in 5g
Some features are even over Snapdragon 865 :
- AV1 decoding support for applications such as YouTube or Netflix...,865's decoder is obsolete
- AI on real test...not stupid Tops : http://ai-benchmark.com/ranking_processors.html
- multi-frame exposures on HDR recording (more usefull than 8k!)

This looks like it will be a solid device. Integration of the Dimensity 1000 chipset will make the phone just a lot more worthy.

Mi phone that can't do custom ROM is not Mi
The downside of MTK chip is no custom ROM which is lame

if this is 300.00 US then its perfect. Anything over you might as well buy a realme x2 pro.
855+ > dimensity 1000. 90hz amoled screen 50w fast charging, 1000 nits peak brightness.

i.e. a phone that Poco F2 Pro was supposed to be... Instead we got what we got, with similarly powerful but insanely overpriced snapdragon 865 and a 60Hz display.

Also the OnePlus 7(t) Pro unlock as fast as the phone of the same generation as he is, faster than Galaxy S10 Pro, Huawai P30 Pro, Galaxy S10 5G and is almost just slightly slower than the Realme X.
So you can't blame lack of speed on the pop up.

And because of the stupidness of trying to minimise it (because it is so invasive that it is a necessity) we loose every great sensors that could be put on phones had they simply bezel or pop up camera and the trend of removing everything but the front camera wasn't enforced by stupid notches and punch holes on Android...
3D facial recognition when done well is way better, secure, quick and accurate than 2D facial recognition, also because of IR camera it work at night too.
My concept phone with his electromagnetic pop up would lift extremely fast and with a dedicated security chip the face unlock would be crazy fast :

And pop up can offer something that notch can't : Privacy, which is way more important than phone design.
I'd take a smartphone without any front camera over any notch or hole anyday !

I requested a pubg review of the dimensity 1000 series (iqoo z1 was the phone) and he actually made a detailed review. I'm soo excited by these dimensity series can't wait to get my hands on one:)
