Prototype, 04 Jul 2020Finally a 2020 phone with no camera on the screen Not the first of 2020 though, well there are midrangers and lowrangers models, like the Honor X10 or the Elephone PX Pro respectively.
But yeah there isn't many 2020 fulldisplay flagship to choose from sadly, appart from the K30 Pro/Poco F2 Pro and Vivo NEX 3s or the upcoming Lenovo Legion and Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha and maybe a Mi Mix 4 (the Alpha doesn't have a pop up), there isn't much to choose from...
That's why I found it stupid when peoples criticize the pop up, as if they didn't had other choices to buy a pop up phone...

I hope for an LCD 120hz panel but it should be a good quality just like my flagship phone , and not midrange-like LCD because there are some very high quality LCD like retina LCD or lg LCD or the LCD in my secret phone LOL

Anonymous, 04 Jul 2020Can the flip camera on Zenfone 6 be made waterproof? Yes it can, there are 3 designs that can be made waterproof :
The Flip camera, as you can isolate easily the motor mechanism from the rest of the phone, the flip module itself can be sealed by design with passthrough connexions, and there module is already outside the phone.
A slider hybrid design like the Oppo Find X and Galaxy A80 can be made so the sliding part is on the outside of the main body of the phone.
And while the slider itself could theoretically be made waterproof by literally having a two pieces phones stuck together within a sliding rail, it would be quite space consuming and a nightmare for internal organisation, as you have to put all components inside two parts being 45% of what a regular phone thickness normally is (count 10% loss as an estimation for the body itself and the sliding mechanism).
The pop up itself though require a different approach, while technically the mechanism can be sealed away from the rest of the phone, the best approach would be to ditch the motor and use electromagnets instead, I made a 3D model of a concept phone who have tons of techs, but mainly it is modeled around an electromagnetic pop up.

Note that this is an intermediate design of the concept, it is just to put together the various idea, I'll do a much better (details, render, internal etc) model in Autodesk Fusion 360.

I've been stalking this phone leaks for months Al because of the possible LCD screen
But rumor is that it might be OLED after all
And that's a big disappointment as OLED does not meet my longevity standards
Good for the dimensity 1000+ though as is it stronger CPU and GPU wise Vs the 855 plus
This chipset has better framerates on citra emulator etyc than the 855 plus and emulators are optimised for adreno and not Mali gpus

The term should be "lifting camera", not "pop up" which is only for a single type of lifting camera.
Here is what I suggest to make mainstream :
*Pop up, when it come front inside the phone : OnePlus 7(t) Pro, Redmi K30 Pro, Vivo V17 Pro, Oppo Reno 10x Zoom, etc...
*Slider the whole half of the phone slide : Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, Honor Magic 2, Lenovo Z5 Pro, etc...
*Pop up/slider hybrid (Slide up ? Half Slider ?) is when a part of the phone slide : Samsung A80, Oppo Find X.
*Flip camera when the camera flip front/back. : Asus Zenfone 6.
