$500 is cheap? For this kind of phone specification and its quality, it is should be less than $300.
A bad advertisement implementing a box filled with a brick inside is sturdy. In other words, it means to step on this dirt rejected phone.

Anonym, 07 Jul 2020While OIS is *THE* defining factor that will dictate good l... moreYes for OIS, it is even worse when you see low priced entry level phone who have it, like the LG K40, Huawei G8 or Blackview A80 Pro, it make you think, what the hell are they doing to not put it on middle rangers or higher ?...

There are multiple times I could have used a Jack port, though magnetic Jack connector would fix the issue (no internal space, cheaper, no ingress issues, etc).

And well, for the SD card, there is a mix between poor data management from Android, and user responsibility...
Like Windows when it read a physical CD/DVD and the whole Explorer freeze and can't access hard drive, I mean c'mon, why should one drive NOT taking bandwith affect another one...
But for Android, if the user decide to install apps on the SD card, of course it will be slower, but for most multimedia files it won't be a big issues.
And while some peoples do this mistake, other would buy good micro sd card and simply allow themselves to install more apps than what the limited default phone memory would allow, which is a totally valid reason why SD card should be to stay...

I mean, if someone bought a bike and abused front brake and basically flip, would it be a reason to remove front brakes on bikes ?
Of course there are always some minimum security needed to protect some users, but there is a point where we shouldn't go past.

Edit : Stuff like installing big games/pro apps is a use of internal additional memory, it won't be convenient to do it with external memories.
And well, independent SD card slot is where it is at, the worse it to allow no SD card, but for the user to sacrificing a SIM slow for an SD card isn't that great either.
On my concept phone, there is a screw in the stylet compartment (and the stylet head can be reversed and act as a screwdriver for it) that fasten a watertight opening on the back using a latching mechanism, it allow user to access (without taking the phone appart) where SIMs and SD card spots are (also allow for user replaceable batterie), which is, IMO, way better than sim tray.

AnonD-909757, 06 Jul 2020OiS should be mendatory for everything higher than entry le... moreWhile OIS is *THE* defining factor that will dictate good low-light photography with live subjects/videos, and the headphone jack is a nice to have, the SD card slot does more harm in flagships than good. I've seen multiple times people killing their I/O performance just because they insist in putting a generic SD card as if it were suitable as main storage. Then they blame the phone rather than their stupidity for the long load times and stutters.

There are USB-C flash drives that you can use OTG to copy data from the internal memory. If you really must use an SD card, use an external reader with USB OTG. Those are far more convenient to insert/remove than the vast majority of internal SD card slots, that require a SIM removal tool, and most likely will also break your cellular connection when removing as the SIM will come out with the SD card.
