If you look at hardware of the phone, it's the same price as Chinese flagships.
Besides software experience is much better (feature rich and fast) on Chinese flagships.
Sony is not bad but lagging behind in certain areas.
Just coz it cost 1200$ doesn't mean its worth spending for majority of the users.
Sony Mobile division is non existent in many countries and has shut down due to having below 1% marketshare.

We all had problems with after sales service, I had a mishap with Samsung three times with an S3, S6edge and a fridge, however I do not allow myself not to tell people not to buy Samsung because the battery swells quickly, the screen becomes yellowish or the buttons on the side jump out after a fall. Stop taking your bad experiences for something truthful and general.

I use Sony xperia xz dual and I suggest no one to buy sony as they stop rolling out the latest Android updates after 1.6 to 2 years of launch and not even security patch will be updated. More over the battery gets spoiled by 1.6 years, then one has to get the battery changed and the awful part is that even the Sony service centre in India won't be having battery of it and will tell the customer to wait for 15 to 20 days and will let us to if they can get it. By then customers get the after market battery and that too dosent give proper backup. None of the after market service center will agree to repair the phone until the customer agrees for the damage to phone will be bared by customer during the service. So customer ends up repairing it by himself. I am here telling my personal experience. So on this, it's once own decision to go for Sony or not... But my suggestion is not to go with Sony.

Don't go after nonsense bashing reviews or compare with other phones on Paper. Please buy one and experience it.
Quality and Name doesn't come cheap so you will have to spend a bit more compared to the Chinese phones.
And I don't get what you are trying to tell about the software? SONY uses almost stock Android. No gimmicks. And the phones are very fast. Like the Xperia 1ii beats every phone on the market right now. Be it 11promax, S20ultra, Redmagic 5g or Oneplus 8pro. Search speed tests on YouTube.
Why don't you just buy a used xz2 or xz2 premium and experience it yourself before writing these senseless things? These old phones will beat the current Chinese phone or iphone that you are using in terms of speed.
