well, symbian had internet sharing, flip-to-silence and media streaming from god knows when.
That's why I sometimes say Symbian is a matured OS, maybe not as cute as a child, but matured enough to keep the basic stuff covered...

Guys atleast nokia supports us(Lumia 800) by updating it to 7.8 and promised to keep all the functionalities in it.. did samsung announced the update for omnia or focus LTE version or any exclusive app for them (except few like chat on, that too not exclusive.. No..No.. U dont deserve it.. u shouldnt blame nokia.. Whatever may be we r still ahead in WP devices and continue to go on as promised.. Get the pureview lumia and cry comparing with ur sIII..

the new 7.8 update means nothing it just a decoration to let microsoft believe their not leaving us wp7 user out in the could where unsupported phone go to die. my lumia 800 is the last window os phone i'll ever use. come the launch of wp8 phones and there will be very few new apps, games etc that work on wp7 so my nokia will be an expensive sat-nav / mp3 player, i might as well have got an iphone, at least apple give you 2 years of updates to the latest os, microsoft need to learn more about customer care before they can think of themselves as a major player in the os market

I dont understand why the only people complaining that old windows phones not getting full windows 8 support seem to be non windows phone users. They moan and groan over a hardware limited update when many android and apple products with similar specs cant even get the latest software. I heard someone say hello fragmentation. Completely idiotic. Current windows phone user old windows ce software just like xp is different to vista and 7. With windows 8 everything uses the same kernel so developers can just make a software once and it works on all platforms. Computer, laptop, tablet, xbox, phone and more. This is windows 8. Its one. What fragmentation? Think about mac os and ios and the company specificaly saying that it wont do such a thing. Think of android where many devices still use froyo and gingerbread more than ics. Thats fragmentation. Windows 8 is the future. Bringing features and capability to everything not just non optimised hardware. Oh on that note windows 8 supports up to 64 cores. Optimised. Android can barely use 2 cores propely. No windows phone at the moment has more than 1 core how then can they take advantage of multicore performance? Ridiculous. To prove my point even more. You will never find an old pentium processor competing with a newer i7 not even close. Unlike single core atom showing off on quad core chipsets . More cores is better? Maybe but not on androids

Cool, can't wait for it. I was not expecting the possibility to upgrade it forever also because that would be a major update. ICS doesn't come for everybody ... it is similar. They could put it the other way la Apple and say that you can upgrade to 8 but some features won't be there. People seem to take it better ...

Please, read before you write. And iOS... they say they update the old ones to 6, but nothing like that happens it just pretends to be. At least we are not lied to.

Disappointed to hear windows 8 is not coming to current 7.5 handsets. Feel bit relieved to hear7.8 is coming, at least something is better than nothing ....
