Their own Realme X50 and IQQQ 3 are cheaper and better (in some ways), and for a 'brand loyalist', except the processor, Oneplus 7 Pro is better in all ways. Put K30 Pro and Mi 10 into the equation, game over.

Possibly OPPO had a prototype but it looks like OP themselves have had to use whatever was passed to them by OPPO.

I like the prototype cameras better. It's nothing like the raindrop in the velvet but at least it doesn't look an iphone X copy, like the real Nord.

There's a very slim chance that phones are just rebadged with different logos then shipped out to consumers. If even one sensor or spec is different in any way with regards to dimensions or tech, the entire internal configuration changes, which stands to change size or battery significantly. Only people who call marketing a gimmick have no idea what they are talking about.

Am I the only one who likes the prototype version better? At least it would be something new, the final design looks like literally every other recent phone. I usually don't like manufacturers experimenting with the camera module too much but this one would be practical because it reduces the chance of cracking (smaller glass = less likely to crack).
"IP rating comes out to $15 due to the expensive machinery used to conduct these tests." - either he's straight forward lying again (usual for OnePlus, e.g. their recent ad saying 3000 people die because of selfie sticks) or it's some kind of "half truth", because if it really cost 15 dollars *per device* then there wouldn't be so many sub-80 eur budget phones with it. There's just no way phone that costs 63 eur (e.g. blackview BV5500, IP68) has 15 dollars BOM in it.
