AnonD-804996, 16 Jul 2020It's hilarious to say "but Apple creates new jobs... moreI'm tired of hearing the such generic and vague " EU " term...

How about being precise in referencing the correct term you intended on using by stating Europe or European Union instead?

Hope this'll help you learn to be concrete in your further commentaries down the road, Razor.

AnonD-804996, 16 Jul 2020It's hilarious to say "but Apple creates new jobs... moreagreed, even small business also create jobs so why the difference?

When a citizen is accused of tax evasion, the CITIZEN has to prove his/her innocence.
When a company is accused of tax evasion, the STATE has to prove the company's guilt.

AnonD-804996, 16 Jul 2020It's hilarious to say "but Apple creates new jobs... moreYou summed up the whole issue. Succinct and straight to the point.

It's hilarious to say "but Apple creates new jobs" so they don't have to pay taxes. Sure, great, they create jobs. So, are all native Irish companies which also create jobs also getting tax exemptions? My wild guess would be a big fat NO. Not to mention a huge portion of those 13 billion € were suppose to end up in many other EU states because Apple sales are happening across entire Europe, not just in Ireland, yet they just *puff* disappear in Ireland. Legally, because intentional loopholes allow this nonsense because a certain group of people gets a cut from this 13b € and they are fine with it. They create 6000 jobs in Ireland and rob the rest of EU states of "jobs" by doing that. So, Apple is no saint in making jobs here when net sub in the end is still a loss for EU and it's states. And it would be so easily fixable, this. Oh, you make own deals with corporations so they can evade taxes. You get kicked out of EU. Meaning corporation that made a deal with you just lost entire access to market coz your country isn't part of EU anymore. But of course people with paws in this 13b€ honey jar make sure that doesn't happen...

Reason I'm so "angry" and "outraged" over this is because of simple fact. Everyone always makes sure YOU pay taxes down to very last cent. All the small(er) and large(er) businesses in Ireland have to pay their taxes down to every last cent. Everyone needs to pay taxes down to last cent, but biggest and richest corporation in the world, well, they don't need to pay any taxes because they "create some jobs". GTFO with such rotten bulls**t. There are bunch of large companies and corporations who pay their taxes the way everyone has to. Not because they are stupid and don't know how to evade taxes, but because they want to have a clear public image that they aren't literally stealing from the people and the government.

Show me a shell company that hire over 6000 people. Stop reading headlines to get folks to click on. You don't need to convince anyone, this thing went to court and the court of law side with Apple, so you can drop the name calling.

I'm also not sure about "my true colors" that you've revealed from my post but you're one hell of an aggressive person. If you're getting paid by Apple for hiding something (which I highly doubt), I'm not.

I quote "The Commission concluded that Cupertino, California-based Apple used two shell companies incorporated in Ireland to permit Apple to report its Europe-wide profits at effective rates well under 1%.".

Apple has nothing to do... moreThat link talked about a commission case/accusation, a case that was just tossed out by a court of law. Apple also employs over 6000 people in Ireland, but according to you they are running a shell company/office there. Got you. Commenting on a subject you barely understand, only to let your bias show your true colors is not the best look.

The EU was in a no-win situation. The court tossed this case out (rightly so) because no laws were broken. What the EU needed to do was to find a way to change the tax laws and close those loopholes. They realized there were never going to be able to do that, so they try to bully Ireland to get their way and the court rightly said nope.

When this case came up 4 years ago, I remember talking to a co-worker from Ireland and he said Ireland will never allow that, because it would destroyed the country's economy. He said the country was highly dependent on the way the tax laws were written specifically to attract big corporations.
