is the ,,i'' also dropped in C702,because i have seen a C702i,and i knew it was a fake,because there is no confirmation from sony ericsson for this phone (C702i)

I think the 'S' in (Snapshot) wud make more sense if it was 'Snapshut'. I mean when u hear Snapshot, ppl will think 'Picture'. But when u hear 'Snapshut' ppl will think "Not a bar form factor". Just a sugestion.

I highly doubt they would release a T300 (*despite sounding better) because they released one around the same time as the T68 as it was my first contract phone (and it was crap). They have to make way for new models all the time and its not as simple as using the same numbers like they do with cars as the changes aren't as obvious on something so small (especially to the phone-illiterate people among the population)
The person who wrote earlier about there being a new K750 - again unlikely as it would be called the C750 if they stick to the new naming convention, or they would make it the K751/2 if they were goin to be totally stupid and keep the K aswell as the C series - after all they mean the same thing, according to the "rules".
Its a good move from SE as they have effectively cleared themselves a path for a whole new range of phones, starting from the beginning with a new naming convention which will give them thousands of combinations (equating to an almost infinite timespan when taking into account how often phones are released!). Their only downfall is using the "G" series as it will undoubtedly confuse everyday consumers who even get confused between the SE and Moto K series phones!!

I really don't like the numbering as the last digit. :S T303, C902, it'd sound so much better as T300 or C900. And I also don't like C as camera series, although it makes more sense (cyber-shot) it just doesn't sound right. :(

to blow it out of proportion, in the far future we might have phone models numbered like ISBN codes for book, 10 digits, then 13 digits.
K might be ditched already in favour of C, but they're still using the W, which model number is already crowded for more relative numberings though...

c=cybershot... phones with higher end cameras (3mp w/af or 5mp) as opposed to
s=snapshot... regular phones with regular cameras.
as the r-series is to w-series, s-series is to... OMG c-series! =D

I think they're ditching the K series,
So they can start using this new system for the C series.
Only thing I'm wondering about is, What happens after they go above 990? Like the W980, will there be a W1080? I sure hope so :(

Nokia started this off with the "N" series an now Sony ericsson is doing the same thing but letters on name do not mean alot its the functions your bothered about,you have just seen this with the G700 an G900 the G700 seems to be alot better an easier to use alot better ,so do not be bothered about the name of the mobile an just check its functions an the ease of use

I don't know how there can be so much confusion over something so simple. Sony Ericsson are just bringing this naming system in, so there will be some phones with and some phones without the new naming. This is because phones take a long time to develop and design, so ones like the W980i would have been named before the decision to take on a new naming structure. So it is likely there will be no more phones released with the old naming structure from now on; W980i was probably the last!
Also, this talk about successors is crap. Just because its W980i, and that comes after W910i and W960i, doesn't mean its a successor. It is more likely to be a new line in itself of high-end Walkman clamshells. Successors are more likely to be the same form-factor, and Sony Ericsson would not do cross-platform successors, especially when UIQ to A200 is without a doubt, downgrade. You'll notice the W960i is actually better equipped in most regards in comparison to the W980i anyway. So stop this nonsense about successors.
Phones in the 'P' and 'X' lines have a completely different naming structure that has nothing to do with this. We can disregard them completely when talking about this new system.
I hope this clears things up for you. As of now, R300, R306, G700, G900, C702 and C902 are the only announced models with the new naming scheme.

What's the difference between S-series and C-series
if both are camera-centric? "Snapshot" also refers to "Camera"
