DxOMoney ;)

Phones fan, 24 Jul 2020The results are not surprising, most of the famous reviewer... moreTo me, the v30 and v35 are VERY UNCOMFORTABLE to hold, and I am 183 cm tall young man.

The results are not surprising, most of the famous reviewers did not like LG V60 camera, something went wrong with Lg after the LG V30 and the LG G3.

The fact that DxoMark was the best review portal for smartphone cameras was true only until 2015 . After that , every review they have written has just been baised , change my mind

John, 24 Jul 2020It's funny how no matter which phones Dxomark test, go... moreUr first paragraph contradict ur second paragraph

Yeah they tested it on auto mode if you use it on pro and know what you doing the camera is incredible, the pro mode in lg flagships is the best and not just gimmicky stuff like others but proper pro video and photography!

I rather have less contrasty than too contrasty , You can always crank it up even video on simple app. Dont feel that DxO is a good place to check

John, 24 Jul 2020It's funny how no matter which phones Dxomark test, go... moreMany peoples say that DxOMark score aren't great nor their test methodology, I have no particular opinion on the subject, but maybe they are right, and I don't refer to the haters who say they get paid, but many other peoples who used to like DxOMark too apparently.

Blackk Mamba , 24 Jul 2020LG used to be great with cameras. Funny to see Redmi k30 z... moreThis is because in smartphone, hardware is only half of the equation.
While on DSLR and other pro camera, the sensor is basically all that matter, smartphone have a way too small sensor to get good pictures, the RAW quality is meh...
The amount of light per pixel is a really important thing, so you either need a big sensor with an equally big exterior lens, or a small sensor but with a huge lens who focus all the image onto it.

But since smartphones have a small exterior lens with a small sensor, they need to use many tricks to reach a good RAW quality level, one of them is to have a big resolution (like 64MP while most DSLR have 12, and only now some expensive one with 24MP are becoming more and more popular which is because of 4K and 8K monitors as 12MP is more than enough), and combine the image of multiple pixels into a lower resolution image, for example, with 48MP you can divide it by 4, which is a 4 to 1 binning, so the additional informations you get, despite having lower light per pixels, can be used to re-construct a way better image.
This is also why some additional sensors like depth sensors are importants, despite peoples complaining about their sole existence, simply because they don't even know how it is used, the truth is, it is important for many aspects.

On top of that you have another software treatment that literally do some sort of automated version of what a basic photographer would do by editing the RAW picture.
Because RAW pictures on DSLR and other pro camera aren't that great for today photography standard, they need retouching, but since smartphones are a product for the masses, including peoples that doesn't even know the name Photoshop, and that peoples want convenience, smartphones can't just leave users with RAW format and require them to edit their own pictures for all the meaningless thing they take while still wanting good looking photo.
So basically the phone try to so an ultimate compromise editing for each scene, which is also why scene detection is important, as if there is a face, you have things like red eyes, skin and hairs to edit, if it is low light or daylight, scenery or close objects, etc.
And there is a step further with the typical Asian beautification that edit faces in a way that Asian (mostly Chinese) society standard want to.

So once you understand that, you realize that a sensor alone mean nothing, of course a crappy one is still a crappy one, but even the best one, without the proper software to work with it, won't give impressive results, and the Poco F2 Pro may also use the other camera in parallel to improve the quality, so even in the hardware part technically it have an advantage.

I am deeply disappointed from my Galaxy s20+ camera performance... In some scenarios my v30 is getting better pictures and my wife's G8S too...S20+ lust is all about paper spec.
So.. stop misleading about v60..I will trade mine for it on first opportunity..

If someone wants to blame LG mobile..please blame the marketing division..

Dxo just confirmed what I have allready seen in another reviews in my country.

Maybe they will improve the algorithms becouse the hardware is very good.

And for those who think that hardware is enough, see Pixel's and iPhone's cameras!

I can kind of agree if the V60's camera couldn't perform since there are other flagships out there with a much better camera performance. But there is one thing why I totally love LG's Camera app: Total manual control. I can easily dare to say that I didn't find any smartphones out there that has a built-in focus peaking feature in the stock camera app. Heck, even Sony didn't make one for crying out loud!

DxOMark is like the Kelly Blue Book (Google it) of smartphones. All marketing to entice or upset a potential buyer.

Well LG. See what happens if you are "stingy" like HMD? You get no scores. Take your money out boys, this days is all about media, not quallity... as long as DxZero Mark say is great, then it is.

It's funny how no matter which phones Dxomark test, good ar bad score, 50% comments ar about how which brand paid Dxomark. Right! Their score ir more correct rhan any other camera review out there since its actually based on data, not so much personal preference as many other tests out there.
LG pictures are just not the best out there, accept it.
For example, look at the picture taken from balcony, down left corner and than look at competition. Night shots are lagging behind as well not to mention autofocus.
Im bit suprised about K30 Zoom though, Im really not sure if its really better than P30 Pro as score suggests. I mean their camera, besides zoom, is pretty much the same as on Pocco and that camera is not good at all.
Also, another thing, newer phones add additional features, like bigger zoom or better wide angle camera and ensure better overall score, but are actually worse when taking regular daylight shots (I imagine that might be the case with K30 here)

Better build quality & best audio are the only USPs for LG these days.

It lags behind in almost every other department when compared to competition, I believe, especially it's software.

LG really need to up their game if they are any serious even remotely to take up with the competition!

                                    A G8x user.

Classic "pay to win" BsOMark score.
Look at how long took for them to "review" (LG no pay no love).
Other brands get same day launch/review (I'm paying you to give me a good score)

Blackk Mamba , 24 Jul 2020LG used to be great with cameras. Funny to see Redmi k30 z... moreI think it's due to the way DxO calculate the result. From this camera comparison by anandtech, V60 actually hold up pretty well: https://www.anandtech.com/show/15845/mobile-phone-camera-overview-2020-h1
