Here's why current WP phones won't get Windows Phone 8

The excellent functionality and features of Windows 7.5 is fine for most real life situations requiring a mobile device. People should not underestimate the hardware quality of for instance the Lumia range coupled with the speed of Windows 7.5. Windows 8 will of course be a natural progression towards mobile gaming, etc, but the existing version is more than adequate.

Ummmm... Windows Phone 7 supports Micro SD just fine. My cousin has it on his HTC HD2.

Will people be happy moving to WP8 right away? Depending on the stability you might want to stay with WP7 until WP8 and its completely different core stabilizes.

Because window 8 for the PC gett... moreMy comp runs Win7 and Xubuntu (dual boot), no tiles there :) Dual boot is a nuance and it isn't Linux that will be kicked out.
No tiles on my phones neither, not on the Desire HD(Android), nor on the on SE M1i Aspen(WM6.5).

You like or not, people wisely didn't buy the WP7 WILL buy the WP8 and give it the five stars comment on the Amazon saying "Almost Perfect".
So, stop complaining and start hoping that they will offer a decent swtiching plan to the WP8. Unless otherwise, you will stuck with the outdated useless phone for 2yrs.

Strange that MS changes so much from one version to another. Still keeping the deal breaker or what makes people choosing a phone with another OS.
Namely the ugly tiles Front screen. I have not found anyone that thinks they are pretty or useful.
The Tiles looks like they are made for a childrens toy.

Nokia could never be the new apple. Apple own both the OS and the phone design & dictates hardware specs for there devices.
Nokia is using MS OS & MS hardware specs. Only thing they have a say with is the design.

Somehow my gut says the only legacy device to ever get a chance to embrace WP8 is none other than the age old HTC HD2.

Basicly Nokia's shares went from 40 dollars a piece in oct 2007 to 2.2 as of today.

Do correct it.. People using Wp 7.x will not be able to use applications that are created only specific for wp 8.. every single apps that's there in windows market wud support wp8 and there is nothing to do with gpu stuff ;)

for god's sake can any of the blog authors say something else about the windows 7.8 version. Everybody knows only about start screen which is of least interest to me .... what other features will be provided in the upgrade .... is it gonna be ... improved multitasking, skype integration, background running of navigation apps, full HD video recording ?????? ... waht is coming ....
stop posting about the start screen ...we have seen lot of that ....tell us something new.
