Anonymous, 29 Jul 2020D720 2 x A76 + 6 x A55 D8x0 4 x A76 + 4 x A55 How come?but D800 has mali-G57 mc5 gpu whereas D720 has mali-D57 mc3 gpu. D720 has only 3 cores in it's gpu compare to 5 cores gpu of D800. So, we can expect less stable fps in game-play of d720 devices.

"Dimensity 800 Minus" is the short-name actually used among engineers, and had been surfaced in various forum posts since March, 2020.

But true it's a cut of D800...code source could be very close (like A22 and P22).
You said D720's Antutu score is slightly above Snapdragon 730, that's true. That's the case of G90T too.
G90T was a new soc when Mediatek released it.
Ok it's 12nm, but A76 (like D720/800/820) and G76 were the latest ARM solutions.
Both G57/77 are a huge improvement over G76 (+33%)
Rebranded soc are :
- G70 (copy of P65)
- G80 (overclocked G70/P65)
- G85 (overclocked G70/P65)
- G25 (copy of P22)
- G35 (copy of P35)

Dimensity 720 (D720) was internally code-named as "D800-" during its development stage. It is a downgrade of Dimensity 800 (D800), and is intended for phones priced below D800 based phones. The target for a D720 based phone, in its basic implementation and basic configuration, should be between 1000CNY ($140) to 1400CNY ($200). Its antutu (v.8) score is slightly above that of SD730G (SD720G), and about 30000~40000 points below that of D800 (Antutu v8: ~320000). The pricing inference here is for Realme's domestic market where this phone is intended and the reference prices from other phone-makers in the same market are drawn. For international market, the price will be higher.
Please don't compare Dimensity 720 with G90T. G90T is a costly rehash of a failed SoC architecture, while D720 is the most recent offspring of a totally new (and 'revolutionary') SoC architecture.

CPU cores are the same (don't think the extra 0.05Ghz on G90T will change anything).
And G57 and G77 have 2 clusters of 16 lanes. It makes 32 lanes per core. (same cores but G57 goes from 1 to 6 cores when G77 goes from 7 to 16).
G76 has 3 clusters of 8 lanes. It makes 24 lanes per core.
32/24=1.33
3x1.33=4
D720's G57mp3 should be roughly equal to G90T's G76mp4.
With the 7nm process and the 4900mAh plus 5g Ultrasave technology , this device would have an awesome autonomy

lose big cpu cores and reduce gpu core too
