Back to subject, if this is not a very fast moving product I would be shocked. The only Playbook I briefly owned had at least half a dozen dead or stuck pixels in the middle of screen. I hope the cost cutting does not mean similar such issues here. I think content too optimized for such screen resolution and size would help. I hope their is not a border on base when viewing video

I agree economically we are in a recession and businesses have had to tighten their belts. Yes some people have had a bit of bad luck with job losses and low pay because big business need to keep their CEO's in the lap of luxury.
For the price of $199 the Nexus 7 is a bargain for the spec it has. No doubt it'll sell well with Google backing.
Compared to the Motorola 2 media edition, RIM blackberry playbook, samsung galaxy tab 7.7 and asus eee pad transformer prime then it is an absolute steel. Highly recommended for those that need or want a tablet with that spec.

No the recession has hit many, you may be shielded by some factor. But I was speaking from not as an end consumer, but as a business perspective and what today's consumer now looks for. Their certainly is a global problem in economics, if you are lucky to not feel it personally fine. Many other hard working adults are. Not so sure your extreme views are of comfort though, as you direct your remarks to certain sections of society and that is most unwise.

IPS, is poor? Many folk don't have the inflated prices Apple demand anymore, not sure if you live in the same World but their is a global recession on pal, many cannot even afford to eat or have a roof over their head. Many now have DOWNGRADED their technical budget, to get value for money!

I had to pinch myself, just to check I was not asleep. $199 for a quad core processor, and Tegra 3 right? I'll camp outside the store overnight if needed! Looks a fantastic device, for the price. How much of a dent will it have on ipad? Probably, not a lot. But surely this device is aimed at a larger audience, not the business types. I vote for this over Apple (very) highly priced devices, and Samsung with the Galaxy Pad 2 (not that good). With Samsung doing not so well in the US Courts over patent issues, let's hope this device escapes such (it looks nothing like apple!)

I don't think you need 3G or rear camera on tablet. You should already have smart phone with good camera and wifi hotspot. No reason to pay again for it. At least it is good to have an option to not to.

Finally a tablet without a rear camera. I find it futile and funny to photograph something with a tablet. It's like trying to eat a soup with a shovel...

Actually Google could consider selling it on Amazon in the UK allowing other EU citizens to purchase it.

Guess how many people buy wifi-only iPads? This market is aimed at those who would have bought Kindle Fires, not iPads. It'll do fine.
