It'... moreNothing is wrong with the 845, it's just the haters here that are wrong, because let me tell you, even if this phone has the 865, haters would just say "they should have waited for the 865+" this is how this hate business works, haters are just looking for an excuse to hate

Jaeger, 29 Jul 2020But that only applies to single core performance. Multicore... moreBe it singlecore or multi, SD 845 doesn't have any significant lead over current generation midrange SOC. On top of that it lacks the efficiency of current generation 7nm SOC.

As for 5G, even if it's in nascent state in many countries what's the harm if you are getting 5G phone for less than the price of SD 845 phone ?

The only thing SD 845 clearly wins in is GPU. But to me processor, efficieny and other newer technology is more important than 30% more GPU power.

007roh, 29 Jul 2020Why not ?. SD 845 is based on 10nm process and uses cortex ... moreBut that only applies to single core performance. Multicore and GPU wise, SD845 still blows any midrange chip out of the water. And 5G is still in diapers in most countries. So, SD845 is still a powerhouse (and is still blazing fast in my Note9, even after more than a year of use).

LG is probably the only phone-maker that still has a significant number of leftover SD845 to be repurposed for 2020 smartphones. Due to the scarcity of new quality 4G SoCs for 2020, SD845 is a decent alternative choice for 4G markets. Performance-wise, SD845 is slightly better than SD765G, but SD765G has better thermal efficiency, some new features and 5G modem.

Anonymous, 29 Jul 2020Why are phone makers giving Europe a bad treatment?!Should ask EU that questions, not vendors.... EU's over protecting of its own market which results in lack of competition comes to mind.

"Nice looking crap" is an accurate definition for this expensive brick ^^

Underdog12, 29 Jul 2020LG always bringing outdated hardware. Glad they don't ... moreLol please, SD845 can still make minced meat out of any midrange chipset of today.

Not even freen i´d want one LG.

Jaeger, 28 Jul 2020So, according to your logic, a phone with a two-year-old fl... moreWhy not ?. SD 845 is based on 10nm process and uses cortex A75 cores. In comparison today's midrange SOC's like Kirin 820 5G, Dimensity 820 and SD 765G are all using cortex A76 cores based on 7nm process and is 5G ready. Phones with these SOC starts at around 240 Euro.

Today's midrange SOC are faster and efficient and has better technology than SD 845. I wouldn't even purchase SD 845 phone for even 200 euros.

What is wrong with SD 845? Two years old, so what? It's still the 4th strongest chip today made by Snapdragon, beaten only by SD 855/+ and 865/+. It's faster than any SD 7xx chip, and has got far superior GPU.

Hahaha....what a joke. Lg keeps pushing the velvet that nobody wants to pay at these ridiculous prices. Mid tier chipset with premium pricing never do well...wake up LG.

Would have been a smarter move for LG to sell the V60(dual sim) globally instead, where most are prepared to pay the premium even $900 USD with dual screen, as it is still much cheaper than the top tiered premium samsung s20 or ultra.
My friend and I was waiting for one forever, got fed up with waiting and went with S20+.
I wonder how many missed opportunity LG had with the V60 in Europe and Asia, they should seriously replace the marketing team's disastrous choice.
