Google in talks with Samsung to replace Bixby with Assistant

I use both Samsung S10 Plus and iPhone 11 pro max. I don’t understand how many Android users are happy with Google’s monopoly but when Apple does it in their own eco system, it’s pure evil. It’s pure hypocrisy. On the other hand, I find Samsung apps more polished than Google versions on my S10 (for instance the messaging app). I agree, I never used Bixby but on the other hand I don’t even use Google assistant because of the shady privacy policies of Google - in the end it is a company that generates revenue through consumer data. I use full suite of Adguard and VPNs just for that purpose. On the iOS side of things, I don’t have to worry about it much because Apple is not based on earning through consumer data (but I still use the same protections on my iPhone as well). Most of the people don’t understand this. So Google trying to push other companies to make their stuff default is not a good thing at all, let the consumer decide what they want to use or not. Also, if I wanted everything Google, I wouldn’t get a Samsung. Although, I don’t see myself using Android for long anyway.

      US Shipping companies are not ship them though. You either find a phone already existing in the US or travel abroad and buy it yourself from another country.

        monopolies are only good in certain areas that require convenience more than anything such as smartphones more and more of our devices, services, and apps are stored on the smartphone and unless switching is a seamless as water, then people when happily accept the monopoly of ios and android. in terms of Bixby, I believe that it should live to allow for competition and better end products. competition should be eliminated in things like healthcare and intention only for the good of humanity. this is why America is on fore right now.

                I used to use Nexus and Pixel phones, but bought a Samsung late last year. I don't think I've ever used the Galaxy Store, and I've actually hidden/disabled most of Samsung's apps (there are a few that a good). Never used Bixby either and had to change the settings so that it wouldn't come up if I accidentally pressed the dedicated button.

                      never rely on another company to keep yours going. Look at Huawei and how they went Vanilla Android and Google banned them. Samsung will keep their app store and Bixby but make the play store/assistant default to keep Google happy.

                        What's funny is, people here really think that Huawei's Assistant and OS can do well, some users believe it could even beat Google's OS and assistance in the market one day, but Sammy has being trying to get Bixby off the ground for years but has failed.

                        Huawei's fate? Even worse.

                        Huawei has injected billions into this "HarmonyOS EXPERIMENT" within a year, and Sammy's devices are in a lot more territories compared to Huawei.

                                        I don't need either Bixby nor Google Assistant. It's among the first things I disable (to the extent possible).
