Kinda says something when the CEO’s of the Chinese company’s won’t use there own phones... probably so the employees can’t get dirt on the ceo.. doesn’t that make you think there might be something about them taking your data...

It is a rather static commodity product, too commonly available to too many people to be treasured. On the other hand, there is prestige associated with owning a "Mate 30 RS Porsche Design" or a P40Pro+, and there is considerable prestige associated with owning a "Mate X" or a "Mate Xs".

Anonymous, 31 Jul 2020For 2019, iPhone sold 20+ millions (including mid-rangers) ... moreEnough with this "Android has more units sold than iphone". Even Tim Cook admitted this. And said that Apple isn't aiming to be number one in units sold with any product, but deliver the best quality product. Quality over quantity.
Apple has so small market-share with the iphone, still it is the best phone company out there. Also iphone has 99% customer satisfaction. I wonder what is the percentage in Android customer satisfaction? lol.
P.S. I am poor and I can't afford a new iphone, not even an iphone SE 2020. But I would rather buy a 3-4 years old model iphone, than have a new low-end or mid-range Android phone. The difference is so big, that isn't a competition anymore.

But, if iphones doesn't have it I am going make fun of it. What is more important, a good and smooth software experience or some "perfect" specs on paper?
By your logic, all the people working in software development should be fired because their work is not important.
A software is very important, no matter what kind of product we are talking about (phones, tablets, PC's, laptops, TV's, consoles, etc.). And if that software is not up to date or is not working properly in correlation with the hardware, then the end experience is bad.
Of course, you can use any Android device, even some S2 or S3 in 2020 if you want and if it's still working. But, that doesn't make it good or wise.

Who cares about storage? 90% of people will pick the 64GB model, if there is one, for any phone. Unless you really are a fanatic for storage, 64GB should be enough.

Who sells cables at $129? Nobody. That's right, apple includes cables in the box, accesories(including charger, which is $30, and earphones, $20) will make a $600 product.

If most of apple's sales are in the iPhone SE right now, you think people would care about a humungous too-small-to-be-a-tablet but too-big-to-be-a-phone devices now.

For some additional perspective to this iphone sale report:

According to Counterpoint Research, out of ~1.4 billion smartphones sold in 2019, 22% (~308 millions) are premium phones. (A premium phone is classified here as a phone priced over $400).

The distribution of these 308 millions premium phones among major markets: China (28%, ~86 millions), USA (23%, ~71 millions), EU (18%, 55 millions), India (1.95%, 6 millions).

                                A side-note to Indian market:
For 2019, OnePlus is the No.1 premium brand in India, accounting for a third of the premium market share (33%, 2 millions). Samsung accounts for 26% of the premium market share with 1.56 million premium phones sold. OnePlus is the 1st premium brand in India to reach the 2 million phones sale. However, India is not OnePlus' largest market because OnePlus sells more in its domestic market.

An iphone is just something you may go through in your life on your way to better things. Most of those users don't stay on to upgrade from one iphone to another iphone.

If you have owned a particular iphone model in the recent past, you have pretty much owned all the iphones succeeding that model. Given the similarities of iphone models in recent years, where does the incentive come for you to want to own another iphone?

Anonymous, 30 Jul 2020Chinese people really love Apple, don't theyChinese interests in iphone has significant subsided in recent years, as you can see from the sale numbers over the years: 2016 (60+ millions), 2017 (50+ millions), 2018 (30+ millions), 2019 (20+ millions).

A significant percentage of Chinese smartphone users have owned an iphone over the years. Most of them moved on to other phones, and only a small minority of users stay on to upgrade from one iphone to another iphone. The super rich, the social elite, the celebrities, and other influential people typically do not belong to that minority. In China, Apple does not enjoyed the prestige and brand loyalty as it does in USA. Iphone is just a product people use, discard, and move on.
