The way I see it, this is a half bake is, Google launch this for the sake of "showmanship" as apple have ios6 & microsolf have wp8, Google need to have "something" "anything" Cox it's better than "nothing" finally they decide to launch 4.1 jelly bean, but at lease Google finally wake up & decide to stay away from Samsung Cox they don't want a galaxy clone come out in 2 weeks, Samsung is going to be a neglected child soon for sure, grounded !

Anonymous, 28 Jun 2012I'm hoping that since this seems to be a minor update (4.1 ... moreSamsung provided TWO major updates for the original Galaxy S (2.2 and 2.3). Of course this doesn't mean that S2 will get the same treatment. As for the 18 month support story, if Google decides to launch 4.1 by late October, it will take 3-4 months to OEMs to implement their own firmwares and that will take us to February 2013. Out of time. And don't forget that S3 will be treated first. I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you

I'm hoping that since this seems to be a minor update (4.1 and not 5.0) Samsung might give Jelly Bean to my good ol' S2 since it technically is within the 18 month google support still, but given their track record for the original Galaxy S I'm not so sure...
                Custom ROM time?

dear apple, try to adopt google's way when you do presentation for your new OS, i know your'e the first who did this kind of "showcase" but google didn't bash the flaw of other OS on their presentation , and brag about their own OS.

Why is everybody complaining about lack of new features? First fandroids say it's the most feature-rich OS, then they want more. Effectiveness and power-wiseness is what Android needs most so you should be happy. It's toy enough already, you don't need anything more to play with. Not that it wouldn't be good OS.

And you know what? It will be the most advanced of the three, since both ios6 and wp8 will just catch up with android 4, while 4.1 will be another step ahead.

Harry, 27 Jun 2012Hey Guys, i want to know that if i buy Sony's Xperia Arc S... moreYou will probably find that they were discontinued before ics rolled out for it, so it is likely you will have to upgrade to ics yourself.
However, I personally would not touch ics with a arc s because I upvradex one myself and found that the lack of front camera ment I could not use the face unlock. On top of that the phone runs a little less smoother than when on gingerbread.
Unless you have something with good ram and at least dual core then I would give it a miss.

ohh and now android fanboys still saying that ios 6 doesnt have something new ok now u will shutup
-mmmmm.. more accurate typing ..... ios have the most accurate writing despite of the 3.5" screen
                                - swype left to go to gallery ..... try it in the ios 5 u will find it :P
mmm i think the best things are the notifications and the screen performance
BTW i am not neither apple fanboy nor android fan boy but i prefer ios so i see that apple did not beat android or viceversa
i actually dont know what apple and android will make new they made almost every thing ( except some silly things in apple ) so i think that most updates will be improvong performance and better and easier notifications and things like that
                                PS i own a 4s

With iOS all devices get it on the day of release. iOS 6 supports all devices from the 3GS onwards and they'll get it at the same time instantly.

If even top devices like the gs3 get JB in mid July on the day of release then I'll eat my hat.

                                      They're having a 4.1 just like ios 5.1.1.
So it works out very well, but I'm shocked they're doing a summer push for 4.1 rather than a fall like
Rim and Apple for their devices.

Guess Canada will see what happens.
