And at the moment, it's the only phone that can boost its GPU frequency to 800mhz compared to 670 on 865+ (not via kernel), the ROG Phone 3 seems to have its CPU OC-ed to 3.4Ghz, it's the GPU that handles extreme tasks like gaming and video editing.
So, in the end, you sacrifice battery life (6000mah vs 4500mah) and a better display (the ROG Phone 3 has a true 10-bit display) for somewhat smoother and longer gaming experience. And... the OS because the UI on the Redmagic is weird...

How about the front firing speakers, are they symmetrical or is the top speaker still shorter than the bottom? Because if the speakers are now symmetrical,might get this over the rog phone 3.

You say only Asus ROG uses it, but the Lenovo Legion has the SD 865+ too. So Lenovo & Asus formed some sort of a club instead of Lenovo & Xiaomi, when Asus is Taiwanese & rest of the two are Chinese (Yes, that matters a lot in PRC)
Also, do you really think Asus has that kind of money to pay off more than Xiaomi & ZTE Nubia (makers of Red Magic), when Xiaomi sells 10times the phones than Asus and ZTE has some very favourable backing from its govt.
Clearly, Asus is providing more bang for buck by making lower profits whereas Xiaomi & Nubia know people like you will somehow justify the lack of a better processor & still go for the BS

Still the most reliable gaming phone currently. You don't want to buy a gaming phone that runs into software and hardware issues too quickly.

That is why they aimed for 865+ in gaming phones, why normal flagships would use the 865. To make gamers buy the gaming phone, over the normal flagships.
But yes, Asus has a lot to say too. Bigger market and more money. So why shouldn't they do like Apple and Samsung? With making sure they are preferred first.

Considering between this, rog3 and red magic 5s the latter two look like a better pick feature vise. When it comes to aftermarket development very little is better than none - rog 3.

Want it or not but politics play a huge part in product shipments and part availability. It's either that or Qualcomm is getting greedy. The latter looks very realistic, since the 865+ is a similar upgrade like the 855+ was to the 855, but i'm guessing the current situation in the markets doesn't allow to increase the prices of devices. Viruses happen.

It seems like no one wants to challenge Asus or Lenovo. The new red magic 5s just has improved cooling system and still SD 865 and the Black shark 3s is just minor minor tweaks with still SD 865

It's right up t... moreYou're talking about the 3 pro variant, this doesn't have pop-up triggers, it's just a minor update over the regular 3 (extra 30hz refresh rate which will hardly be noticed in real life and ufs 3.1 storage). Honestly the regular 3 is a much better deal right now as it's sells for almost 100 USD cheaper
