What a terrible decision by UK carriers...

Shut up with your megalomaniacal delusion. I've already bought an 808 and been using it for two weeks now. It's a fantastic phone. I have a Galaxy Nexus and it's comparable to the Nexus speed-wise, save for the browser which I seldom use anyway. Why don't you try it first before putting up with those lies that you posted? Guys, don't believe this prick. 808 is an amazing phone.

AnonD-11222, 28 Jun 2012Actually Android phones comes with spy software so when use... moreYou know what else does not transfer your data? A feature phone or a brick.

Even with all the virus and spyware in the world Android is still a much better OS than Symbian.

AnonD-1082, 28 Jun 2012Are the UK Telcos implying that Symbian smartphones are so ... moreThere's being a supported of a manufacturer, and then there's living on planet cuckoo - I mean - why are you even bringing Sammy into the equation?

Come on, you don't honestly believe that do you?
            I mean... you don't? Right?

            I think the real reason is;

            a) lack of demand
            b) lack of ongoing revenue - many carriers have added extras that work with specific OSs (like Winmo, iOS, etc.)
            c) probably lack of demand
            d) it's a one-off, not getting the best reviews

Middle of a recession? £500 on an unsupported, DOA handset? Come on now... who's going to go for that?

Nokia is finished and so is ... moreActually Android phones comes with spy software so when user is using his phone this spy software transfer your personal data in background without user being informed in this way carriers can make more money where as such features are not available in Symbian hence they don't want to offer a Subsidized Nokia PV808

                    UK carriers know what's up.

Nokia is finished and so is the junk Symbian... yea, yea, yea it can do so many things, browsing, emails... the question is that though who the hell wants to do all that on Symbian when it's so utterly terrible at everything it does? Browsing is horrible on a Symbian phone, keyboard is just atrocious. Everything in Symbian is just bad.

I want to know about the people who make Symbian and code that POS OS, have they actually tried a modern smartphone?

But, oh hey, hey, you guys have got BLUETOOTH TRANSFER!!! YEAH! I mean you don't have Wi-Fi Direct, and your phone runs on a hardware that is 5 years outdated but you've got that bluetooth transfer!

And here's another thing about this junk 808. Yes, having a great camera is good, and having a great camera on a mobile phone is fantastic because it's always there and always with you and you don't have to carry a dedicated camera. However 808 cannot be your main phone because it's a horrible phone and not a smartphone.

So just get a modern smartphone like the iPhone or Galaxy S III, they both take fantastic pictures that are good enough.

Why tie yourself with a 2 year contract just for the sake of 300£ cheaper? You'll end up paying at least 100% more in the long run do your own calculations. It's not like you're buying a car or a house where you really need to be in a mortgage. Buy sim-free, sign up for a separate plan(or a prepaid) , and spare yourselves a carrier-stamped restrictions BS.

Carriers play dirty! They want to make NOKIA to give them 808PV almost for free as NOKIA did with Lumia phones in US!! But they will chage their mind when they will see the customer request for this phone!

Here's a trick for all you Nokia fans...

                              What you COULD do...

Is buy a Galaxy S3 free on contract (don't kill yourselves all at once!)

And then sell it to someone like Envirofone (current price for it is about £300)

And then buy yourself a Nokia for £200...

                              How's that?!?!

                              (don't say I don't give you anything...)

the unexpected hits you between the eyes...

                                ;)

shame really, it would have been nice to jump out of the tech rat race for a couple of years... oh well... time to hop back onto the 12-core 20" monster that will no doubt be released next year!

That was expected, but I'm sure they'll still get a good amount of sales anyways.

I only buy unlocked anyways; phone pays for itself with the cheaper plan.

And Nokia is far from dead. Partnering with Microsoft is proof of that.

That's BS! They are discriminating Nokia and they must be getting paid by Samsung to do this.

The 808 PV is better and more innovative than the SGS 3.
