updated to ics two days back. felt that touch was not that responsive only while scrolling in messages and contacts. I downloaded go sms pro and another dialler which were d drawbacks in ics. now my phone is real smooth. but the battery drains fast than gingerbread. so download some other battery saver apps. Sony has kept its words. cheers for all xperia users. thank you Sony:-):-)

if you want to revert back to gingerbread, you can do it the official way by sending your phone to you nearest sony service center, if not then do it manually by flashing 2.3.4 ROM...search the xda-developers.com, there are lots of threads there

AnonD-58552, 30 Jun 2012Just updated my phone 2 days ago. My phone got slower &... moretheres no way to revert to gingerbread unless u hav made a image of ur gingerbread ROM and kept it safe...

i had the sam problem as of yours...u might have updated thruogh PCC...ur data would also had been left untouched...
if possible for u, please download the sony update service and do the upgrade...but let me warn u ..please remove the memory card if the update service software allows(i didnt tried)coz every data from ur phone internal memory and from SD card only the apps will be deleted completely..prefer to make their backup..i did that...after through this process...there was no lag watsoever till now for me...its been a week my doing update...

                          HI, gsmarena...

i updated my xperia mini two times...
                          1. through PCC...it was laggy..too much..took 3 hrs to update..

                          2. using sony update sevice...took just 90 min or so..

the second time i was happy with wat i got...yes..i lost my whole data the second time(including the apps on my SD card) but i had done the back-up so no problems occured..i mostly use my phone for browsing(3 hrs daily)...actually..wat i had heard and read about ICS that the browser is fast...it actually is...i mostly use wifi...i xperienced...a 20% save in my time for loading the pages(your site).
sony hav excluded the adobe flash player in ICS which was previously coming out-of-the-box in gingerbread..for youtube app its not a problem as it supports html5 but while playing online games i had to download the AFP..sony has included a EA Games app which only displays the games from EA, some are free and some trails...but its of no use...many apps come preinstalled but only wisepilot is removale others only thier updates can be removed...but yes they can be disabled also...

As you mentioned that some users say "its like having a new phone" thats right to some extent but actually the new font in ICS the robo..something...makes the whole difference...
you remember the settings button on xperia....it still is there...yes sony kept the most recent apps option to the home key...as it was in gingerbread...

FINAL WORDS: its good to see and xperience that sony have kept to their promise...and deliverd exceptionally...but left out the features like the new gallery swipe effect for photos...and frankly speaking...if any one who has a xperia mini, has not seen the galaxy nexus(with vanilla ICS) or xperia S 4.0...will say that " it is like having a whole new phone"..otherwise its just a face lift...with ICS...no sony special features are included as in xperia nxt phones....but still.. my next phone will be a SONY...
