Google doing foldable phones give me really bad vibes. Google has this tendency of joining late to the party (with the advantage of knowing where the competition failed) and still deliver a crappy "flagship feature" with a hefty price.
    Examples:
Pixel 1 (Really huge bezels even for 2016).
Pixel 2 (This one was actually a pretty phone despite the 3.5 mm jack controversy).
Pixel 3 (Late for the notch and the biggest notch in any smartphone while still having a chin).
Pixel 4 (Finally adds a second camera...The wrong one).

Don't get me wrong, I know Pixels are about the software experience. However, the hardware is still important. That being said, the Pixel "a" series are the only phones from Google that have the right balance between software, hardware, and price.

LEEDAQ, 06 Aug 2020why do we even need foldable phones?Dude, no one wants a tall phone. So having a phone with a foldable screen like RAZR 2019 or Galaxy Z Flip makes total sense.

Google is slowly ruining everything the have. This phone will surely be garbage.

Anonymous, 06 Aug 2020They can barely make regular phones without hardware defect... moreThey don't make phones anyway. They use Foxconn to make them. At most they just design the phones. Foxconn should be one of the better manufacturers though

Anonymous, 06 Aug 2020They can barely make regular phones without hardware defect... moreSo to the point

Once upon a time Google bought Motorola and buried it alive. Then they went under the skin of HTC with this "partnership"... Do you see any HTC phones? Great phones...before Google. Now they want to build a foldable when they can barely make a regular phone. If not for their great picture processing this company's hardware will be nothing more than a low profile unknown Chinese brand producing iPhone clones.

Anonymous, 06 Aug 2020If Samsung and Huawei barely sell this kind of the device, ... moreI remember that huawei has said that they are going to make aggressive priced foldable, probably will launch with new mate series later this year. Latest rumours is that it will be 2 screen device like galaxy fold unlike that one screen which is with plastic screen very fragile.

I am sure if some oems will come they will price lower than samsung and there is rumour about fold e model coming next year which could cost 1100 dollars.

It's a shame when such a great camera software is carried by probably the crappiest android phones around...

Nobody is going to pay $1800-2500 for a foldable from BBK, Xiaomi, LG, Sony or Google.

Google should learn to make a proper phone first with good battery life.

I am probably buying fold 2 but more devices sold means better software support and i am hoping that my next foldable phone will cost less than 1000 euro while still being much better than the fold 2.
