09 August 2020
The Notes are the unrivaled stylus champions and the Fold2 brings key improvements, but are there weak spots in the new premium lineup?

Article headline: Did the phones live up to expectations?
Article poll: WiLl YoU bUy ThEsE pHoNeS?

Me: Yes, the Ultra did live up to expectations - it's a top of the line device with absolutely no cut corners, and if someone is interested in a phone with stylus, this is literally the best thing you can get today. No, I will not buy one, because it's too large for my liking and outside of my budget. Is it too hard to comprehend? The poll question is always this stupid, it should be something like "is XY a good phone" or at least "are you interested in XY", not whether or not am I buying one.

Not only in Israel does the Note come with the problematic processor, it only comes with 8GB of RAM, and without 5G support.
Samsung has really outgrown the device

I'd go with the 20 or just the 10 plus

Note 20 ultra is garbage just because of exynos , i won't pay more for less while Snapdragon version got better with 865 plus , we are still stuck with same one as s20 and they didn't care to improve it at all
For note 20 it is absolutely disaster , plastic back , downgraded s pen , 1080p60hz it doesn't resemble note at all , it is mid-range sold at flagship price but they made it just to push people to buy ultra version
Z fold 2 was only exciting device but price will be sky high so not going to buy it but huge improvement over original fold so i am excited for future folding devices

Z Fold2 is going in the right direction, with full screen on the outside and no notch on the inside
but maybe I'll wait a few generations, for the body to be thinner and the screen to be more durable

I've owned the Note 8,9 and now the 10+5G. I like the design of the Note20 Ultra, aside from the Exynos processor, I wish they made it thicker or something since it has the huge camera bump. I mean everyone will use the £1200 phone with a case, and the case will have to account for the bump, so in the end the phone will feel thick in your hand anyway, so why not make it thicker originally so it has a bigger battery? Samsung bruh moment.

Did shamesung saw these pollings? Yes
Did shamesung wanted to fix their campaign? No

The Note 20 Ultra is just an S20 Ultra with a better design and a stylus, and the Note 20 is overpriced while being the cheapest.

The Z Fold is kinda cool because it looks like it's becoming a usable Fold, but I'll wait for other manufacturers' implementation, as I'm not a fan of what Samsung does in general.

Not sure about the Fold, but for the Note 20, zero expectations.

-Note 20 uses a cheap plastic back for $1000 (costs more in certain countries). Also a first for a Samsung flagship.
-Retains underpowered Exynos chipset in almost all countries, was hoping for more powerful Exynos 992
-Removal of IR which was one of the key selling point of a Note in the past
-1080p 60Hz screen in Note 20, whereas all other Samsung flagships use 1440p 60Hz minimum
-Insane price for Note 20 Ultra

Conclusion: Like Android Authority said, Samsung used to be the Android king, set benchmarks for phones (in my opinion, it killed Apple, because iPhones were poorly built in the past). Now this has changed.

Proof that even several Chinese flagships like Mi 10 Pro and iPhone beat Samsung flagship.

Sloppy sales in EU and Asia shows. Don't blame the pandemic as P40 and iPhone 11 continue to sell a lot.
