Nokia is long dead. Today’s Nokia phones do not have the bold hardware design of Lumia and Nokia’s earlier models. Their PureMotion, ClearBlack and PureView tech is dead as well. HMD can acquire their trademarks but they don’t have the tech.

HMD is announcing phones and shipping them 6 months later. The phones have 2 year old entry level processors and are outdated even before the reach the stores. Everything about the phones except the build quality is some of the worst you can see in a smartphones. This company is a disgrace.

I have a Nokia 7 plus fantastic phone looks like a top premium phone and has been almost perfect in operation , I am ready to upgrade but Nokia 9 pureview looks no where near as good so in no hurry to change to something that looks not as good and only marginally better specs, if Nokia brought 7+ back with 128 storage and 90 hrtz refresh 4000a battery I'd buy another .

No, they can't. The whole idea of Android One is Google Pixel experience on OEM brands. So don't expect custom UI in this case. Even Xiaomi didn't use MIUI for their Mi A phones.

Good chance for them to make a comeback. They have to take it.

This is huge news. Good mix actually.hmd has some very boring handsets but the engineering is steadfast. Google is super cool creative and Qualcomm..well..ok we love the snaps. Now this gives Nokia a powerful leg up. Put some good old-fashioned character and personality to modern-day phones with a bit of a leaning from that, that was successful in the past. It can become new again with class

Nokia need to do below things in their mobiles to recapture market share

            1. They need to improve their phones design according to new trendy gradient colors and innovative designs.
            2. They need to improve their display quality. Use bright LED's in less than $250 phones and only use OLED display in more than $250 phones.
            3. Since Qualcomm is on board now, they should use better qualcomm chipsets in midrange and lower midrange phones, and before others. SD 730 is one year old SoC and Nokia yet to launch a phone with it. Use Xiaomi's approach here.
            4. Along with Android One, They need to make their own Theme app with custom themes, wallpapers and fonts.
            5. Allow unlocking bootloader and encourage custom roms.
            6. Introduce new fast charging solutions. Xiaomi just launched 120 Watt charger and Nokia still waiting to launch charger with more than 18 Watts.
            7. Launch phones with aggressive prices like Xiaomi and Realme for few years and capture as much market as they can.

Is this the reason why Pixel 5 is NOT coming with the latest SoC?

Lolol King Nokia still alive n shtting on Huawei n otha copycat chinee brands

I don’t know how I feel about this. Sure, HMD has a very good record of updates for its phones, but they are way overpriced and I’m not fond of their designs, either. Back in the feature phone days, they had some amazing designs (Nokia 7210, Nokia 3200, I’m talking about the ones from 2003).

Well, perhaps Google’s involvement will help them get some of their glory back.

Now aside the rented brand they'll also have to pay to Google and Qualcomm the profits so bigger prices upcoming to they already overpriced ones!!! Never Settle!!! in prices...
