Anonymous, 16 Aug 2020Good objective point, till you bring up the K30 Ultra to th... moreYou make no sense, the k30 ultra is just an example I said also the mi 10 but no, you will just ignore everything and talk about how I said the k30 ultra, + not everyone care about s-pen, I didn't ignore that it is important for some people and I said that I understand that it is important for some people, but saying that the s-pen worth 700$ make no sense at all,and finally why if the k30 uktra has a mediatek chip means that I said is irrelevant, the exynos is much much worse than the dimensity 1000+ and it doesn't heat like crazy or throttle at all, where the exynos drop about 40fps the dimensity don't, it is just much better in performance and battery I don't know about the isp or modem but the performance, battery and cooling are better by a large margin, also the display is double the refresh rate, and has the same specs (1200 nits,......)

LOL all of your argument make no sense, I just compared specs, I didn't say that the k30 ultra is better, for me yes it is better, but I just compared a 280$ specs sheet to a 1000$ specs sheet wich is shameful for the 1000$
And I said that some people may prefer the note 20 cuz of it's software or the brand logo in the plastic back or the s-pen, but for others who don't care I just showed them the difference between a snapdragon or a mediatek colpared to exynos, and I compared ithe specs of note 20 to the competition

The S-Pen and it functions alone do worth about the $700 price tag you mentioned or maybe slight lower/higher depending on ones view. But K30 is irreverent here, just because Xiaomi marketed so, doesn't mean it is so. S-Pen has being part of the Note legacy, at least compare a phone that has built in stylus. Not to mention K30 Ultra isn't even using a Qualcomm chipset, no way this two is relevant. Are you going seriously debating over how Tata is the best car beating Mercedes/BMW because it cheap and offer some feature that BMW and Mercedes don't???

Having 20% less battery life than the sd variant is..... Even if people say that they don't need 20% battery less or 800$ worth of performance and build quality and worse camera and display compared to the competition make it super overpriced in most of specs and a garbage scam in others
The mi 10 for exemple has a much better 90hz curved 1200nits super amoled and better camera setup and build quality with the best audio in a smartphone and much much much better performance for half the price, and k30 ultra with a 120hz super amoled 1200nits, for 280$
I agree with most of what you said but this is just too much, I know samsung want to sells bad chipsets to make profit and they make a lot of ads and has a larger profit largin compared to xiaomi but this is just too much
I know some people may love one ui and s-pen or the name of samsung in the back of the note 20
But HAVING SOC THAT PERFORMS WORSE THAN A 200$ AND PAYING THE SAME AS OTHER PEOPLE IN USA AND KOREA.. IS RIDICULOUS

Is the real scam, imagine someone who bought it and after that he watch a review like a mrwhosetheboss review and know how his device is inferior to the sd variant and the competition, when he know the plastic back or when he play a game then the phone become hotter than hell and throttle like crazy, he will not gonna be happy, and when the battery is depleted before his cousin who play with him and has the sd variant, he will not gonna be happy,
As for me I don't buy samsung devices anyway but I want to help people before they got scammed

samsung doesn't sell its own processor in its home country cause they protested and demanded they want snapdragon. maybe rest of the world should stop buying and protest until they get snapdragon too. and this title is very misleading..ultra didn't get sanding ovation.

i can understand samsung wants to make the base model less feature packed than the ultra , but the base model is already smaller , and with only 1080 p , i would have thought , at least giving it a 90 hz refresh rate at 1080 and keeping the s pen fast latency would have been a fair trade ....maybe even with a headphone jack ?
It is hard to understand how these smart phone companies come up with their hardware features list .
Google is the same with the pixels .
Even with the battery sizes , if i was the CEO , i would be adding another mm or two of girth and stuffing extra battery in these phones , that would have the added benefit of shrinking down the huge block of flats of camera array sticking out the back somewhat too .
Yes it would have been a tad heavier , but i think most people would happily make that trade off .
As for the Exynos/Mali , unless you are a gamer i dont think you would notice much difference in day to day ,
running benchmarks at 100% full throttle for 15 minutes is certainly not normal operation for the majority of use , unless your gaming for longer periods perhaps .
However , the fact that there is a difference between the chipsets in different regions and some of us get the lower performance version while other regions get the better chipset still sucks .

But hey, this ain't the first vendor don't wake up and list to the users or looking at the obvious... If Samsung really want to push that pos and make some guy look good in the boarding meeting, they should just release it in East+Southeast Asia/Africa where a good portion of market don't care such detail... Sony has being smart enough to do it on their TV lineups...

Why haven't gsmarena published a map of the votes? Probably it will clearly show that the approving votes are only from regions with SnapDragon.

So yeah, the worst display and build quality and performance on a flagship (note 20) for 1050$ is not acceptable, even if the price is 700$ it's seems like a cheap quality midrange phone with midrange display, budget midrange soc, budget 150$ build quality,
People who like it is because they haven't tried anything better they think because it is samsung they will get THE BEST SPECS AND SOFTWARE but that's not the case, I understand that somepeople may love the s-pen but as for me IF YOU TELL ME TO CHOOSE BETWEEN A K30 ULTRA FOR 280$ AND A SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 20 5G FOR 250$ I WILL SURELY GET THE K30 ULTRA,

Not gonna buy anything samsung with Exynos in it. Why would they insisted to put their shitty crap instead of SD for the rest of the world? This is clearly discrimination by Samsung.

I am quite amazed how many people voiced their negative opinion on the new Samsung devices.
I mean I could not be happier, the more we push and vote with our wallet the better chance of getting a better device next time (like with S6 series).

I preordered N20U the day it was launched in India. I know it is exynos etc etc, but beggars can't be choosers. It is not really a BAD chipset, can handle flagship phone jobs... after all no one gives us the s-pen or the screen or the knox... Note 20 ultra is the only option for a power user. exchanging my 3 yr old note 8 for this.
