You must be confusing Chinese ROM with vendor ROM. I think most vendor ROMs are gone now on Xiaomi devices, and if not, they are very easy to remove.

            Vendor ROMs are unofficial and pretty much gets zero updates. But just replace them and updates will come :-)

I live in South Africa and bought a china ROM Black Shark 2 from banggood which is currently on the July Google security update and Android 10, I've received well over a dozen updates, obviously no local support though

                        But it would be China ROM, with no future updates and no local warranty. That is my simple reason to not consider the phone. I love the specs and the details that came out, however, once they said it is for the local market. I just gave up

                            Why would you spend close to 1000$ for a phone that would need to be tinkered from the get go to perfrom?

                              Only flagship phone that lives upto the name 'ultra'.
                              Insane battery life combined with 55W wireless charging, 100W car charging, 120W wired charging.
                              So proud to be part of an ecosystem where users don't have to beg for the latest and greatest.

                                    Its a beast of camera setup.

                                      That's some HUMONGOUS telephoto module on a mobile phone. I'm really impressed that they managed to fit that thing into it without making camera bump absurdly wide (Looking at you, Samsung, Huawei).
