Asus Zenfone 7 specs found in kernel code: 6.4" 60 Hz LCD, 64 + 12 MP camera on flip up

19 August 2020
The display matches the specs of the Zenfone 6. The rear camera, however, upgrades from the 48 MP sensor of last year's model.

Adam, 22 Aug 2020More http://asus.blog.jp/archives/1077822483.htmlSome interesting English translations:
"There was information that 6.4-inch liquid crystal was installed, but it can be judged that 6.4-inch information is fake , such as the enlargement of the flip camera unit with 3 cameras and the width ratio of the back part on both sides. Since the lens part of the added camera is large, I think it is a telephoto camera rather than a macro or TOF. The camera configuration of ZenFone 7 will be wide-angle 64 million pixels + super wide-angle + telephoto ."

Also, this article: http://asus.blog.jp/archives/1077823095.html says the headphone jack is gone :(

And this acticle is talking about screen protectors being 6.7": http://asus.blog.jp/archives/1077814475.html

Finally, they're saying the 6.7" screen is OLED! http://asus.blog.jp/archives/1077817629.html

There is no UW camera on the Pixel 4, so did you mean a telephoto lens?

Sush, 19 Aug 2020So, you do agree the 4th camera is always useless crap ? 😅 ... moreFor me, macro and telephoto are useless. Poco f2 pro and k30 pro (non zoom) uses both just to be able to market their phone as quad camera. It's not needed to be a genius to expect other phones to pit quad cameras too. Marketing is all about numbers. If you can brag higher numbers to customers, the better.

I don't expect asus to use a periscope with 5x zoom like huawei or oppo because they price their flagship much lower than other flagships. 5000 mah is just retaining the battery from 6z. Just add telephoto to 6z flip setup and replace lcd with amoled and use sd865/865+ and priced around 500 to 550usd and it's good for most people

I have the Zenfone 6 - it is awesome. I'm sure 7 will be even better, but I won't buy it. After having some issues charging the phone, came to find out Asus has some of the worst warranty policies. They will leave you stranded with no phone for over two weeks to repair your phone. When I had an issue with a Samsung phone, they sent me a refurbished phone and took the malfunctioning one to fix. All I had to do is provide a credit card# in case there was water damage or something else not covered by the warranty.

Hopefuly the "pro" version will not be this hopelessly mediocre ... snappers, the screen, SOC ... all of that kinda sound like it's 1 year late to the party.

The specs for the non pro is kinda bad for a flagship but if the pro model has water resistance, i would buy it even if it costs $200 more with same shitty specs (as long as the camer functions are good of course).

I am due for an upgrade this year and I really wanna buy this phone... but if it doesnt have water resistance, I'd go for the note 20 ultra due to it being a really good all rounder. Initially wantsd to go for the xperia 1 ii but it's spec are crap for the price range, at least compared to the note 20 ultra...

They should use the imx555 instead of 686 for better autofocus and picture quality.

Nicely specced flagship. Going by the Zenfone 6, the 7 should also be one of the sanely priced flagships. Hope the FPS is to the side. And to all cribbing about not having an LED screen, not having in-screen FPS, not having higher refresh rate and whatever else, there are a 100 other devices with all of this. They have been putting out rather impressive devices off late. But does anyone have any idea on their update and support schedule?

I was hopping for a better camera setup, I don't even care about wide/ultrawide, I want telephoto, portrait and macro.

If that ToF can't do 3D facial recognition, the phone is worthless and a huge wasted opportunity.

I would have prefer Oled for a single reason : Always on Display, I don't care about refresh rate.

I would have preferred an ultrasonic indisplay fingerprint scanner.

Also, if it doesn't have a jack port (or magnetic connector) I won't even care about this phone.
