If you don't like how the dialer displays long names, replace the dialer. Frankly, I don't need much of a name to know who is calling. I've noticed no lag in the camera beyond the usual.

The Zenfone 6 has only one major failing -- apparently, Asus is not going to bother to update it to be compatible with the VoLTE switch coming early next year. They did it in India, they won't do it in the US. I consider that unethical and am looking around for something else. But if you want a phone with a spectacular camera, gigantic battery, and all the things phones used to have before they became "premium" by stripping them out, this is basically all there is.

Asus seems to be struggling hard to keep up with its peer competitors. Zenfone 7 is a telling example of how seriously Asus has already fallen behind. If you take a careful look at this phone, it is essentially a bare-bone phone with SD865, with no other flagship-worthy technology Asus can put in. Asus has practically given up on any attempt to build a proper flagship smartphone.

Asus sold 2 million smartphones in 2019, less than Sony which sold 3 million smartphones in 2019. 2020 will the year Asus will struggle to reach the 1 million mark. Let's hope ROG 3 will help Asus to make that mark.

I have asus Zenfone 6 (or 6z whatever it called) .I am using it for past over a year. The Asus has a very serious problem in their phone which I reported but never worked upon.

1- The Asus 6Z phone almost has no noice cancellation hence audio at both side full of noice and most disturbing. If you are buying this phone for calling then my advice is just to stay away from Asus.
              2. Does not show a full name (if long name) when you receive the call. It starts scrolling name filed very slow and by the time the first name come its pass 30 seconds like. Hence Its very difficult to identify person name and have to wait 20 seconds before the first name reappears after scrolling.
              3. The whatsapp dual app does not have contact refresh nor you can add new contact on dual whatsapp. Its a big issue.Only those contacts which was stored before you install whatsapp will be visiable and not new added contacts.
              4. The 3rd party app notification does not work or not stable.
              5. Many other software related issues in the phone.
              6. The camera pic sharpness is very good but processing takes much time then the competition.

For my its time to say bye bye Asus.

But OIS for is needed for low-light stills. And we all know how bad the 6 is with that.

Highly unlikely they'll put OIS on a flip camera tbh. Very wishful thinking :(

The screen hits 600 nits, the other sites (phonearena) already tested it. Though I'll take my words back on that, not the best IPS out there, but a good LCD for the price.

pufanu, 21 Aug 2020No Sdcard - it comes in a 256gb version, give me a break N... moretrue about the headphone jack, i was speaking from memory. But your argument about the version with 256GB storage is also not valid, because it is no longer 400Euros, is it?
And OIS is a big miss when you are trying to take pictures in a darker environment. That is the main thing the cameras of the flagships today compete at. Even midrangers nowadays can take decent picture in good daylight.
Don't get me wrong. I am not hating on any brand. Xiaomi has pushed the market in the right direction in the last few years. I was very close to getting a Mi Mix phone. They were the first to increase screen size and decrease the "chin". Which forced others to slowly re-think the whole cut-out bollocks. I'm just saying that this Zenfone 7 is shaping out to be good value for money. Dismissing it because it's not oled is in fact misinformed and comes from the same hater bandwagon ;)
