Phones that are near 7 inches across the display gets in your way in your pocket every time you sit down, every time you kneel, lifts your leg high, run. Simply because they're as big as manufacturers dares to make time while they technically still fits in a normal pocket.
The Z Flip gets so conveniently small I often have to check which pocket I have it in, because it takes up less room than my keys.
The flipping of the display is more a pleasure than a nuisance, in my opinion. :D

AnonD-762416, 22 Aug 2020Why? Because it folds.

Then there’s the annoying thing of having to constantly do an extra move EVERY TIME you want to get to the main screen.
Obviously, there’s a market for such devices, but the biggest problem is the price. You are being charged a hefty premium, when the performance is inferior to phones which may cost half as much.

And so it begins - next year or the year after we will see a gutted, poor mans (lite) version of the phone, together with a middle tier and a premium tier as well.. The premium tier will cost 4000 dollars minimum..

The top 10 smartphones I've owned the last decade are:
1. Z Flip

The ability to fold up a big screen into a tiny box is priceless.

It was only a matter of time before they started production of mid-range foldables. The question is why would anyone spend ~1000 euros on a foldable phone, with mid-range SoCs, when you could get a slate flagship for the same price (or less)? Is it really worth sacrificing performance (and sturdiness) for bragging rights in front of colleagues?

I'm going to guess it folds like the Z Fold with less obviously
-Tiny outside screen for notifications, user is meant to use it folded out
-Cameras of A series quality
-Smaller battery
-Plastic back, maybe even glastic design
-No camera on the inside
-No wireless charging
-Midrange A series chipset
-6gb ram
-128gb storage
-Not ultra thin glass, more like first gen display
