Anonymous, 30 Aug 2020and a lot of bloatwares,ads.. Agree with you ONE UI 2.5 has a lot of bloatwares from samsung , microsoft and google 3times more than on xiaomi or oneplus , and one ui has also ads in its music apps ,that's why I said the mi 9 lite and mi A3 are better alternatives considering the far better super amoled , cameras , build quality and soc

Good things observed from this article- Entry level device from OnePlus with SD 460. Rest of the things like HD+ display on a 6.5 inch screen make it not very special.

The 460 and 662 are very closely identical.
And they both don't do 4K video record and playback.
Keep this limitation in mind if anyone wants to buy a phone running any of these chips.

joe nodden, 29 Aug 2020We're not comparing flagships here. That's a whol... moreI agree with you, me too I also have a xiaomi phone MI 9 and it is amazing for the price, and yes I don't know why they keep using qualcomm sd while there are better soc from competitors especially in performance I love to see a helio g or a dimensity, like the redmi 10x 5g or the k30 ultra
What you said has nothing to do with being a xiaomi sheep,
Oneplus shoud've used the dimensity 820 or 1000 instead of the 765g or at least in budget 200$ phones where the thing that most matter is the price to performance ration and the sd 460 is not at all a good one in this, with the price saved from using a more powerful mediatek soc they could've use a full hd LCD or something else, because even if the price is the same as the redmi note 8 pro it is much worse, (soc, build quality, display, no ultrawide and not the best wide cam, sd 460.....)
I just don't know why no one uses dimensity soc's globally but only in china

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2020The snapdragon 460 is actually a pretty powerful chip, take... moreU obviously know very little about 'SoC specs sheet' & 'how to determine good SoC', don't u?
U'r typical Qualcomm's fanboy who ALWAYS underestimate rival's SoC, especially MediaTek.
Certainly, the old MediaTek from before 2016 could be considered 'bad', but Since Helio x20, x30, & p60, MediaTek's SoC are certainly getting better & better; even the new mid-range 'Dimensity' lineup (800, 820) could rival SD855, and the top Dimensity 1000,/+, could give 865 a run for their money.
My advice: stop being Qualcomm's fanboy. A person like u is what makes Qualcomm monopolize smartphone's SoC business, and monopoly is NEVER a good thing, especially in technology-related company. Why? Because it'll stagnate the development & introduction of better & cheaper technology (5G for the masses, affordable SoC with Cortex A76 & A77, decent to good GPU). And which SoC introduced all of that? OBVIOUSLY, not Qualcomm or Apple, but MediaTek & Huawei (Qualcomm won't give 5G for cheap just yet; they are too busy marking up SD8xx & SD7xx price, so SD6xx & SD4xx could be sold at the price of the 'old' SD8xx)

Anonymous, 29 Aug 2020 If 6.52-inch is oversized for you, then how small are your... moreIt's not about how big or small anybody's hand is, dear friend. It's about how much screen area do you need in your phone without it bulking up in size or weight. If you have big hands and a compact phone, you can grip your phone better, use it one-handed easier, have less stress on your muscles and palms and don't have to grapple with carpel tunnel or any such. It's amusing how a lot of people equate bigger phones with bigger hand and bigger machismo. Like people with bigger SUVs and bigger engines. It's a phone. It should be based on your requirements, your convenience, mobility, lightness and compactness if there are people who seek that. Not a reflection of your hormones.
In any case, I see no point in 6+inch phones. They are too large and heavy to be phones to be used in one hand, or fit comfortably into a pocket. And too small to binge watch or create any content or engage in any productive tasks over an extended period for which you need at least a laptop.
Moreover, I have used two SD 4xx processor phones over the last six years. My first one still works, but stopped using it as it had run out of space in its non-expandable 16gb storage. Use it as a backup. My second one with expandable storage has completed three years with me and is still ticking along perfectly fine and smooth for my needs. Besides, modern phones have more processing power than NASA had to spend missions to space. We honestly don't need all that processing power to watch cat videos and calling out people for the size of their hands.

AnonD-896879, 28 Aug 2020I know maybe oneplus doesn't give amazing specs for a ... moreWe're not comparing flagships here. That's a whole other discussion.
But no the price of components hasn't increased. Newer components are more expensive, but that 1080p AMOLED panel from 2015 isn't gonna all of the sudden be more expensive to produce now. (Well technically 9% more due to inflation if the entire manufacturing process were the exact same, but that's negligible) No, that panel would be cheaper now due to how efficient companies have gotten at producing OLEDs.
And the SoC, oh the SoC. There's an amazing source of cheap and powerful SoCs, but OnePlus has sold out and struck some sort of a deal with Qualcomm to buy their underpowered trash budget SoCs. Xiaomi has gone with the insanely more powerful Dimensity 820 for their $230 Redmi 10X 5G. But even the cheap G90T would've been a way better option here. (That's found in a $174 Redmi Note 8 Pro)
I know I'm seeming like a Xiaomi sheep right now, but it's just how it is. They're the only ones making choices that benefit the consumer right now. Call me a sheep all you want, it's just how it is. When another company starts making the right choices I'll praise them. But right now, Xiaomi it is.

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2020The snapdragon 460 is actually a pretty powerful chip, take... moreWhat the....
Have u not read previous comments, or at least research a little before saying some BS?
SD460 is the combination of 'downgraded' CPU of SD632 and 'downgraded' GPU of SD665 (Adreno 610).
Both SD632 & SD665 is the 'downgrade' version of SD660 which is cheap enough that Asus M2 max pro which basically uses stock Android could be had for cheap (around 200$ for the 4/64).
Or u could just get Redmi Note 7 (the Vanilla ones) or Mi8 lite, both have MicroSD slot & could be had for 200$ right now (again, the 4/64).
Why bother buying underpowered devices just for the sake of its OS when in Android, u could just install custom ROM, such as Pixel Experience or Lineage?
Android devices is ALL about specs; u lose the competition when u couldn't give bang for buck OR worth the money features (high quality DAC, good camera sensors, big battery, FHD display, and some more?)

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2020The snapdragon 460 is actually a pretty powerful chip, take... moreBud are you slow? The G80 is more powerful than the 665 that you say the 460 is worse than. And no $200 phones aren't using the G80. They're using the G90T. (Well some less than $200, but that's only helping my point) $150 phones are using the G80. Even the $119 Redmi 9 uses it. And the Redmi 9 has a 1080p LCD instead of 720p. And still has a massive battery. (Not quite 6k but there's chargers everywhere, 2+ days of battery life is more than enough, an extra 1k mAh isn't gonna change a thing)

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2020The snapdragon 460 is actually a pretty powerful chip, take... moreIt's not that powerfull. 665 is actually a little less powerful than it's predecessor 660. And the 460 will be a bit less powerful than those SoC's.
Which means, i have doubts about Oneplus keeping a phone running smooth OxygenOS like they got their customers used to...
A 720G would be much more appropriate. And i doubt they'd give support for 2 years updates in a 200 phone...
